Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Based on the popular Capcom coin-op Super Puzzle Fighter this game combines the popular drop-and-stack play mechanic found in games such as Tetris Columns and Baku Baku with fighting characters from SF II Alpha and Darkstalkers. Ryu Ken Sakura Chun-Li Morrigan Felicia Lei-Lei and Donovan (with Akuma/Gouki Dan and Devilot as hidden characters) appear on-screen when an area has been cleared and start dukeing it out. One of the most unique entries in the electronic gaming pantheon.

5 out of 5 stars my puzzle can kick your puzzle's azz   January 12, 2008
It's like tetris, but with punching. Of course, growing up in my house, tetris often did come with punching, and name calling, and the occasional thrown controller. Ah, the memories...where was I? This game combines the best elements of puzzles and fighting and puts you head to head against other players. The single player mode is fun, but the games truly shines when you're trying to beat a friend into bejewelled submission. combine like colored gems into power gems and strings and then use the breaker gem to shatter them all. your nemesis will then have a butt load of gems dropped on him that can't be broken for a set number of turn. your fighter will also perform an attack on the opposing character. the game is fast paced and can change drastically with only a few gems. I love it.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome game!   January 1, 2008
My favorite game of all time! I'm not the type of person to play video games much but I love this one. Got a Ps2 just to play it. It's like tetris except u get to kick some a**.

5 out of 5 stars Cult Classic   October 2, 2007
I've only met a few people that know this game but the few people I know love it. I actually had to buy a psone just to play this game since my ps2slim wouldnt play it but I don't regret it. It's fairly easy to learn and the way we play makes it so there's no one best person, different playing styles makes it so everyone beats another person sometimes. hard to master.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointed   September 12, 2007

I bought the game and put it in to play, the playstation logo then the capcom logo shows up and then it goes blank. I waited a few minutes and then click the restart button. The same thing happened but this time I waited for about 5 minutes and still blank screen. This was my first experience puchasing online and I'm very disappointed. Now I have to go to the post office to send it back and hopefully get another game that works. If the 2nd one comes back still not working, I'll going to stay away from online ordering.

This game has wonderful replay, is mentally challenging but still allows a mindless trance.

If you like puzzle type games at all,
you're probably missing out on the grandest of life things.
