 Small song selection December 27, 2008
I was very disappointed with the song selection for this game. It seems their are not very many songs that come with the game. Although you can download songs - you would spend alot of money choosing to do that. I would go with another game for that reason.
 Fun With Limitations December 14, 2008
First off, I don't have broadband or an Xbox Live membership (the latter due to the former), so I can't download new songs for this game. That being said, the few songs that it already has aren't too shabby. I should also mention that I can't sing. There's no false modesty there, people, I'm really horrid in the vocal department.
But the problem, you see, is that I *love* to sing. So I figured buying some kinda singing game would be the best solution -- I can howl until my heart's content once my roomie is gone. Ironically, the game has very, very, very, very (I could keep going) low standards, and even on the hardest difficulty level I can still win an Idol tournament or get a platinum rating.
I like being able to unlock videos, that's a cool feature. The judges are very creepy (as I believe another reviewer pointed out) and they do get monotonous. I just skip their reviews once I'm done yodeling unless I actually want some kinda feedback. The characters really don't look anything like me, but it's hilarious to pick an ugly one and dress her up in the craziest outfit ever.
Overall, I've had a lot of fun with this game. Soon I'm gonna bring my friend back here after work and let her have a go at it (unlike me, she sings beautifully) and after that...I'll probably put it away and only play it on rainy days.
I will mention that I had to turn up the mic gain all the way for a few songs, and if I got a little crazy vocally trying to keep up with the actual singers, the mic sometimes quit registering for about three seconds. Maybe that's just my bad, but I figured I'd throw that in anywho.

Primarily brought the game for the mic, as my Rockband mic was losing sensitivity. Mic. from this game so far has been excellent, the game itself is not as satisfying as the mic. Decent purchase.

This is a great game, the only problem is that you have to purchase microsoft points to buy more songs. The ones that are on there are great.
Awesome Game August 14, 2008
I played this game once over a friend's house and I immediately knew I wanted to purchase it. It is so much fun and can really bring the family together. I'm not really into video games, but this one was an exception. I couldn't be more happier with the purchase! =]
