Amazon.com Product Description
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, the first PlayStation2 installment in the Crash Bandicoot series, delivers the same mix of intuitive gameplay and elaborate adventure that fans have come to expect, offering many enhancements and all-new environments and missions. Neo Cortex is back, and he means to rid himself of Crash once and for all. To energize his most diabolical creation to date, Cortex channels the power of the Elementals, a group of renegade masks with the destructive power of air, earth, water, and fire. To stop the Elementals and Cortex's new weapon, Crash or Coco (a fully playable character for the first time) will face five game hubs, 25 dynamic levels, and five unique bosses, as well as a new character that will rock the Crash world.

You can complete specific levels of the game to play as Crash's fiery sister. Coco will have a wide variety of moves and animations tailored to fit her personality. New free-roam sections will be implemented within certain levels of the game. These sections feature puzzles and hidden areas never before seen in a Crash game. New bosses and minibosses offer up a Noah's Ark-sized list of new creatures. The game also has an all-new graphics engine that brings vivid life to environments and characters like never before.

3 out of 5 stars Great clone of Crash Bandicoot Warped   July 27, 2008
If you played Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, you'll feel deja vu, as it is pretty much the exact same game with the graphics beefed up. If you had the choice, I would suggest getting Warped if you prefer game play over graphics, otherwise get this game if you prefer graphics over gameplay.

4 out of 5 stars One funny game   March 19, 2008
This game have a good story line.
The graphic is good.
The sound and music are good.
The game play is the same from the other game (for the Playstation version).
This Crash game is very fun and give some time a good challenge.

2 out of 5 stars Crash makes a crash (pun intended)   February 16, 2008
I think that this game is less then satisfactory. I am a die-hard fan of crash and I have ALL the games (including the Game Boy ones). The graphics are not enough for a PS2 game, and it is a lot more cartoonish then the other ones. Next, it is a COMPLETE rip-off of Warped, having only a handful of new levels. The game is far too easy, and you are fighting the same boss over and over. Next, still, the music is irritating (Especially in the level Avalanche) and it is inexcusable for a company like Vivendi, and the desginers of the game itself. Next, we go to the Super-powers. They have fit in a new idea known as "Tip-toe", which enables you to walk over large areas of TNT or Nitro Crates. (Whatever happened to double slide jump, and triple spin your way down?!) And, they totally messed up the Bazooka. It looks, sounds, and acts wimpy. Finally, the Coco levels are nothing special and, I especially hate this: NO ANIMAL RIDING LEVELS!!
No boars, tigers, polar bears or T-rexes to cruise around on.

P:S: Crunch kinda irritates me. I like him better in CTTR when he has that funny Mr. T voice. :D

So, overall, RENT THIS GAME FIRST.

5 out of 5 stars Loading Time - So What?   June 10, 2007
I really don't understand the comments of others who gave the game only one or two stars only because of the loading times. I don't think that the loading times are too long. Maybe 20 - 30 seconds at most, but never one minute!
Then, the enemies at the end on each stage (like Crush or Neo Cortex) are never too hard. Some are even very easy! One just has to think a little how to handle them, and that's what I like.
The game is pure innovation and all levels are created in a great graphic.

The only thing I don't understand is that the booklet is grey on the inside and not colored. Did they not have the money for that anymore?

All in all, it's a very good sequel to earlier games with several improvements, as other comments already stated (new vehicles, better graphic, a new character to play, new kinds of objects,...).
A little bit more innovation wouldn't have been bad, however. That's why I give the game 4 points in fun.
For a Bandicoot-Fan, like me, it's like perfect.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointed   July 31, 2006

Ive played the Crash games on PS1 and it was fun. After getting this game it has really long loading, you play the same boss over and over and a boring storyline. The only thing I like in this game is when Coco has fighting moves. Unless your a diehard Crash fan dont get this game. If you want a good kids game get Sly 2 Band of Thieves.
