I bought this keypad because I don't like using the num lock option on my notebook. Using this thing is the same, you need to activate num lock on your notebook in order to use the numbers (if not the keys will work like home, end and their other functions), so you can't really enjoy using a full alphabetic keyboard AND an additional numeric pad. I tried it in both Vista and XP notebooks, didn't work either way.
