Amazon.com Product Description America's Cup: Virtual Skipper is the first true 3-D regatta simulation for the PC. The game contains three levels of difficulty for all skill levels. For those new to sailing, a tutorial is included. Water conditions include wind fields, weather, and currents. Real-time arbitration follows the international racing rules. Stretches of water include La Trinite sur Mer, Hauraki Gulf, Maria Island, and the San Francisco Bay. Two modes or regatta are included: fleet racing (up to eight players) or match racing. Captain 24- and 45-foot boats or a 70-foot racer. The behavior and responsiveness of the crafts re-create the sensations of being a helmsman.

Great game, but NOT Windows Me compatible!!! February 11, 2002 I consider Virtual Skipper to be just about the best sailing simulator so far. The graphics are First-Class, the sound is excellent, and the music soundtrack is awesome. Seeing the photorealistic undulations of the seas and burbling boat wakes is a sight to behold! I wish the music played throughout the game instead of just at the beginning of the race, as without the music to keep you company the game can get a bit dull at times.
Excellent Online Sailing November 16, 2001 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
In the age of first person shooters set in stunning 3D worlds Virtual Skipper (VSK) may seem a bit dated, but in terms of sailing simulations it can't be beat. And the dated graphics do have an upside, even the most modest hardware will run VSK with ease. Practice up on the computer opponents and then head online for some of the most exciting races you will ever have without getting water in the cockpit, or scratching the paint! There is a central server available to host regattas so there is usually no problem finding opponents, and setting up private races with friends is also possible (and easy). Being familiar with the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing isn't required, but it isn't a bad idea either; this is a simulation after all. There are some bugs in the rules interpretations, but you better know port from starboard! You can download the free demo and see for yourself. The demo is limited to match racing one type of boat on one course. The full version allows match racing and fleet racing (up to 8 boats), six courses, and three types of boat (24', 40' Offshore Cruiser, and 70' ACC).
Almost perfect... August 11, 2001 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is one of the easiest and best looking sailing program/software that I have seen. If you're in tune with the America's Cup, you'll find the graphic qualities close to what was available on line with VirtualCup. The oceanic and sailboats are smartly rendered. There is an ability to play against other players online, which is great in itself. The interface is easy to use and sailing is a cinche. I would recommend this to anyone interested in the America's Cup or sailing in general. There could be a few improvements, but its nothing that can't be overlooked.

Well there aint much sailing games, but this is one of the best.If you like sailing and yatch racing this is the game to buy.The game might seem complex at the begining but you really get use to it after a while. The effects are really good and you really fell that you are sailing.I think this is a game worth buying.
