Amazon.com Product Description
Silent Scope 2: Dark Silhouette, sequel to the hit arcade game and 2000's pinpoint targeting title Silent Scope, asks players to resume the role of an antiterrorist officer and engage in intense battles featuring two-player modes, movielike cinematics, and enhanced graphics. The suspense begins in the U.K., where a terrorist group has planned a deadly attack on an unsuspecting city. Taking on the role of an antiterrorist operative employed by a government-run peacekeeping agency, the player is tasked with tracking down and apprehending the terrorist group. Missions take place in a myriad of European environments, from London's River Thames to snowy Swiss mountain ranges.

Featuring a unique targeting system and new enhancements such as the Thermal Vision Scope and the X-Ray Scope, players can skillfully zoom in and take out enemy targets. It is crucial for the player to complete each mission quickly and effectively, as it is timed and scored for accuracy. With the option of playing in two-player competitive or cooperative modes via a PlayStation2 network cable link, players will find themselves immersed in a mission like no other as they work to prevent terrorist attacks.

4 out of 5 stars Great game. BIG challenge.   November 29, 2003

This is an amazing game! I picked it up with a gift voucher I got for my birthday after playing it in the arcade. I played it there and it was my first time playing. Being the passive-aggresive person I am, I played shooting range mode and got 3rd on the high score list (featured in the home edition, I like the high score lists!) So since it was so cheap I bought it, and oh am I glad I did!

It is challenging, but it grows on you in a matter of hours! I just keep getting better and better! The only part of this game that I really hate is original mission mode, believe me, except for the boss battles, stick with the arcade mode.

Plus, it has a HUGE options menu to fit your every need! Konami's done it again! (I'm a big DDR freak!) All in all, a great game, and espically for the price!

3 out of 5 stars More fast-paced action   June 28, 2002

This game is virtually identical to Silent Scope 1, albeit with a few enhancements. SS2 is longer and there are more bosses. The environments of SS2 are a little better too. But the structure of the game (including final single-bullet shot at the end) is basically the same. One nice feature of SS2 is that you can practice the bosses separately once you have reached them in 'Story' mode. This is particularly helpful for 'Sho and Kane' (they move quite fast). As with SS1, the game is fairly easy, so don't pay full price. A used copy or rental is the best bet.

1 out of 5 stars STAY AWAY FROM SILENT SCOPE 2!!!   February 15, 2002

ECK, for the love of god stay away from this terrible game! i got this because it looked so cool in a magazine, and its always cool to pretend your an assassin (whips out a gun and shoots silent scope 2) selling or destroying this game may be the only satisfaction you get out of it. it might have been fun if there was a gun compatible with it, but there is not. instead you must struggle with the analog stick. if you like shooting things i would reccomend Time Crisis 2, get the one with the gun and its a blast.

1 out of 5 stars SUCKY GAME   February 15, 2002

this game is a terrible game of a sniper and killing people thats not the problem with it though. u might like it because of the arcade game where u can use a plastic sniper rifel to aliminate the terrorists. however u cant use a gun or special controller for this game.and to my appinion it sucks
