Good Buy January 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I rec'd the game I thought, your usual driving game with ok options. I was presently surprised that this game is not for everyone. You will need to concentrate and learn the game in order to obtain all of 90 cars! The realism and graphics are amazing. Good buy.
Great time with this game !!! September 7, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was looking for a game that had the old 70's Trans Am race cars in it. While this game does not have those specific cars, the ones that it does have are very well done, and with the availability of many of the old tracks in the US via several race game websites, it is possible to come pretty close to simulating the Trans Am races. With all of the car and track dynamics that this game uses, it really is less of a game and more of a simulation. The great old American cars, Vettes and Mustangs, are real beasts to drive, while the European cars, the Lotuses and such are much more refined and handle smoother, very much like the real cars do. I did a little extra research and figured out how to create and add my own custom skins into the game which gives it a little more personal feel. I am playing now with adding in new cars that do not exist in the original game such as a Camaro or Challenger. We'll see how that goes, although it is possible as others have done so :) The only reason that I did not give this game 5 stars is that it is very difficult to play with just the keyboard or game pad. I was able to play, but the experience left something to be desired. I ended up spending about a hundred bucks for the Logitech Momo wheel and pedals and this GREATLY improved the play and feel of the game. I highly recommend this game, but for the fullest experience, you need a wheel and pedals and if you don't have them, which I didn't, it is an extra expense.
beware of Starforce copy protection May 24, 2007 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
Do yourself a favor and do an online search for "Starforce copy protection" before you install this game on your PC. Also, there's an earlier review that gives a lot of the same information you can go find yourself. Bottom line: this game will install drivers on your PC (without asking or telling you) that interfere with your own legitimate use of your own devices. Further, uninstalling the game won't remove them. They open up big security holes too. Nasty stuff. Think twice.
GT Legends March 10, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I found GT Legends to be a very realistic game. Plenty of user controlled variables. Tracks, at least the ones I could get to, were well represented and realistic. While I found the graphics quality good, the overall presentation was somewhat plain. I would have expected a little more "punch" to the visual representation of the tracks.
I was quit disappointed with the fact that so few tracks are available at the start. I am a firm believer that if I paid for the whole game I should have access to the whole game no matter what my skill level. This idea of having to find cheat codes to play the whole game is a bunch of bull. Finally, 3 CD'S is a hassle why not a DVD option.
