3 out of 5 stars MORE BRITISH UNITS!!!   September 8, 2008
Och where are the Highlanders? if there were Highlanders this game would rock! If there were a whole frickin' Scottish playable country it would be the best.

5 out of 5 stars this is a great game   July 29, 2008
in some ways it's almost like a board game with realism so don't expect to much awe out of the game that way. i owned the game before but i have to re-order because i lost the disk. this is a classic, in other words it never gets too old. the historical accounts by the game makers are unsurpassed. this is a lot more basic than the newer ages that are out but it is still a great game. if you enjoy cossacks this is a great starting point. i never get bored of this game, it's a great way to kill time lol. i wish more modern games would have more game play features like this but many lack the true strategy aspect. if you like balancing a civilization plus controlling it's army this game is for you.

3 out of 5 stars Two days and tired of it   April 22, 2008

Not much else I can add to these other reviews. But yes, you can have thousands of troops in battle at once. But no one mentions what a tiring process it takes to create that many troops. I spent 3 straight hours of building, upgrading & turning my peasants into troops. In all, I had about 2,000 troops in those 3 hours. Compared to the 5,000 my enemies had while set on easy.

If you got a lot of time on your hands to build mills for food, mines, dwellings to produce peasants, forts to send your peasants to so you can turn them into troops, not to mention all the upgrades on everything blah blah.. then by all means get this.

Often times they are so many things going on it becomes a task to keep up with it all. This is definitely a game for someone with a lot of free time. I had fun with it for two days, but it got old quick.

2 out of 5 stars unreasonably realistic   July 8, 2006

the game is too realistic to produce any fun. there are lot of things which the computer knowns and the players don't. unfortunatly the computer gets a head start at things. the realism takes the fun things out of it. unreasonable things also go wrong in this game. characters don't follow what u tell them to do, it should be that way!

well lets see, its a fun game, i enjoyed watching all my buildings and people get slaughtered when i tred playing. id build up a fairly decint defence just to watch a massive army built by ai come and slughter me. but once u get the hang of it its actually quite fun. the grafics are really good. on the bonus missions i got threw like the first 3 then thats stupid boat mistion where they give you like 5 small boats and 3 large ones, wtf how do they ecspect you to shoot down there massive ships with little musski guys on row boats. i actually ALOMST beat it BUT i ran outa AMMO. witch i find a little lame and to relistic for my likeing, its like ok i just pain alot of cash for u and now u run outa ammo and i have no more gun powder... just to watch the oher boat come and shoot the crap out it and its helpless. but other then have to be really smart and tacticul, cause the AI kinda need some help, its fun. i was greatly disheartend when i acsedental scratched the disc and it wouldint work i cryed alittle on the inside.lol but alsa i moved on. i hate thouse people that dissed age of empire and empire earth, thouse are alose great games of course u cant have quite and many units but u cant tell me that blowing up casles with like 20 catipults is not fun. and cobra car code now thats cool. all and all its a great game that i will buy again cause now i wana play it.lol oh and if anybody that reads this has CORSAIRS: Gold plz email me at matt_the_jackal_and_kati@yahoo.com plz do cause ive scoured the high seas for this game and have not found it.
