Product Description The Incredible Machine: Even More ContraptionsThis fantastic program will have your brain working as hard as a mandrill on a conveyer belt with bananas dangling in front of it. Don't worry, we'll explain. The Incredible Machine: Even More Contraptions gives players dozens of tools that perform an action: balls that bounce, cats that chase (and don't bounce), pulleys, ropes, generators, and yes, mandrill baboons on conveyer belts, bananas a-dangle in front of them. Then players are given a problem to solve with all of this crazy energy. Here's an example: in one puzzle called "Wood is Good," players must get three balls into a box, make wooden toast, and wood-smoke a hunk of gouda cheese for a mouse. Among the tools available to accomplish this task are a bike pump and an antigravity pad. And this is one of the easy puzzles. The Return of the Incredible Machine In the Return of the Incredible Machine: Contraptions, you're the inventor as you attempt to solve over 250 wildly imaginative puzzles. Create incredible machines out of a diverse assortment of crazy and colorful parts, ranging from ropes, pulleys, and bowling balls, to cheese driven mouse motors. And after solving the puzzles, make your own with the built-in puzzle editor.Return of The Incredible Machine allows players to use unique, sometimes humorous mechanical components to construct fantastic machines that accomplish unusual tasks. Each puzzle contains a partially built machine and the extra pieces needed to complete it and accomplish the goal. The player's job is to use the pieces in the correct way to complete the machine. As players become more familiar with the various machine parts and their functions, the puzzles become more sophisticated and challenging.

Great fun for engineers of all ages! May 24, 2008 These games were purchased for my husband, age 73, because many years ago we had the first version of The Incredible Machine that ran on our old 286 computer! We both had a lot of fun with it because it had such imaginative building pieces. For instance, the motors might be a mouse in a cage running in a wheel! Well, we are not disappointed in this newer version. It has many of the same fun parts to build with. I have not played with these much but my husband tells me they are both pretty much more of the same, which is exactly what fans of the original will be looking for. He recommends anyone who loved the old original to give either of these games a try. If you are not familiar with the original, you will find that they start off easy enough that it is not necessary to have experience with the original to be able to work these. Then they progress to the point where I give up and my husband gets excited to finish what I started! We are both big fans of the Nintendo DS Lite because we enjoy the brain games. This new genre known as EDUTAINMENT has got us hooked. It is because we got so involved with the Nintendo Brain Age and the other Brain Games that we thought to go searching for The Incredible Machine again. These are puzzle games that are every bit as good at getting our brains working as the Nintendo games we play. These just let you play GOOD games on a big screen! The engineering involved to acomplish a goal is what makes it so much fun. The parts are somewhat limited which forces our brains to really think. I would certainly recommend these games for anyone interested in engineering who also likes silly looking fun games! My husband has an engineering degree from Cal Tech, but I believe a 10 year old who has grown up with Lego and Erector Sets would enjoy it every bit as much. Incredible Machine is nothing like Lemmings from the standpoint of trying to save the Lemmings...but it is similar in flavor since all the building parts are quite cartoonish in design. There is nothing to kill. No guns. Just fun, thought provoking edutainment!
