Amazon.com Product Description Emerson's compact, easily placed and easily moveable EWC1303 TV/VCR combination offers a 13-inch color screen and a host of recording and playback features that lend itself to convenient daily recordings and various kinds of playback, including auto repeat (great for trade shows or in-store instructional loops). A front-panel audio/video input easily accommodates a camcorder, digital camera, or gaming console, and with its minijack .125-inch monaural headphone output, you can listen quietly or in private. Want to hook up your game console in a hurry? Just press the "game mode" button and the set will automatically ready itself for viewing via the front-panel inputs. The 2-head VCR offers 8-event, 1-year programming, one-touch programming, auto head cleaning, digital auto tracking, and auto clock set via a local PBS station. It records in 2 speeds (EP, SP) and plays tapes recorded in the standard 3 (EP, LP, and SP). It even has a special rental-play mode for improving the image quality from old or worn tapes. A daily timer will record daily broadcasts, and the weekly timer allows recordings to be made once a week up to the end of the tape. With auto return the TV/VCR can return to the beginning of the timed recording after it's done, making it easy for you to turn on the set and start watching your program. A wake up/sleep timer allows the TV/VCR to automatically turn on or off at a desired time, while timer program extension lets you to shift the time schedule for automatic timer recording. What's in the Box TV/VCR, a remote control, remote batteries, a rod antenna, and a user's manual with warranty information.

No problems here, it's a great little combo February 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We've had this for maybe 5 or 6 years now and take it everywhere, camping, to beach rentals and when not outside the house it was always on in my kids room. It has some nice wake/sleep and record features, the picture quality is still sharp, the a/v jacks support several different media types, it saw a *high* volume of rental tapes and still played nicely and my son used it regularly for gaming. I'm using past tense only because we upgraded the kids TV at Christmas and it's not being used right now.
Absolutely no complaints here. I couldn't ask more from a small combo like this one.
good tv at first , but not anymore and the company is lousy! August 27, 2006 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this tv about 2 years ago and it was a good deal...for a while. But just a few days ago, I noticed that the tube's color is off in some places. At first I thought it got hit by lightning, which has happened to me before. But then I called the Emerson people and apparently this is very common w/their tvs! Not only that, but they refuse to do anything about it even though they admit that it's not my fault and why? Because I don't have the original store receipt. I'm sorry but do they really think their customers keep their original store receipts that long? What would do they do if a customer called about a product they've had for 10 years? Not to mention that they don't need such a thing anyway to verify that it is indeed an Emerson product - it says Emerson right on the tv for heaven's sake! I'm pretty disgusted w/this company and I won't be doing business w/them again.

My last TV,a similar Symphonic TV/VCR combo was purchased back in 1995 at Bradlees dept store,it has acted up as of recent years, but only the past few weeks had the picture tube started to fail.Searching around,I could not find one locally to replace it,so I had to do the internet mail order thing. The new Emerson is almost a carbon copy of the 11 year old Symphonic. They have moved the input jacks to the front but otherwise its the same case and everything. One thing I dont like is the sound. There is only one speaker working and its on the left side. The sound is very muffled and you have to crank it up to 40+ to hear the sound with any volume at all.The old set was loud at 10.There is no troubleshooting in their manual or website regarding sound output. So I think this will last 11 years? I doubt it.I miss my old Symphonic already......
They should stop making TV/VCR combos all together! May 8, 2006 7 out of 11 found this review helpful
I use-to have a Emerson TV/VCR combo and it use-to ack so retorted. Let me explain the problems.
1. Sometimes when you put the tape in it automatically cutes to TV off by itself.
2. It won't let you stop and rewind or fast foward it so it can go faster.
3. The tape gets stuck in it and won't let you eject.
So I had enough I just threw the whole thing in the trash and bought a new RCA TV/DVD combo at Wal-Mart cause I never hear about those messing up like I hear about the VCRs from other people.
