Fun for a little while? June 25, 2008 I purchased this as a birthday gift for my daughter, she turned 10. She enjoyed playing the game for about a week then said, "It's boring". She hasn't played it since. Just thought I'd share with others who might want to purchase this game.
age appropriate June 10, 2008 My Daughter pick this game out with her Birthday gift card...She loved it! She enjoys the SIMs line however I usually don't like her playing them as they are rated teen and she just turned 9, but MySims is rated E and it is very age appropriate.
Will bore teens and adults May 27, 2008 If you're looking for a simple game for elementary school children, this might work. If you're older than that, do not bother. It is too easy, boring, and nothing like the Sims like the name suggests. Here's how the game goes: Talk to a character who tells you to build something, easily collect materials, and build it by matching shapes. Even the shape matching is no challenge because it lights up which pieces go where. I'm disappointed and glad I only rented it.
Playing to Play May 24, 2008 I hardly consider myself a hardcore video gamer. While most people like games with solid and concrete goals (i.e. beating a game in every available mode), I like to play video games just to play and relax. For me, My Sims is great. It can be highly addictive at times (just one more task!) but it's such a nice relaxing game, time flies right past you.
The furniture design is interesting (think Tetris) but some times it can get a little (ok a LOT) wacky when the character wants a ridiculous amount of essences in an object (you have to really get creative and figure out how on Earth to stick 25 purple crayons on a flower stand).
The game is lighthearted and whimisical. Definitely play at your own pace. I like it more than Animal Crossing in that if I leave it untouched for oh, months, it doesn't give me a guilt trip upon my return and wild weeds haven't taken over all of my hard work.
While little ones can certainly kill some time on this game, the true driving point of the game (construction) is most likely going to be out of their grasp. My four and a half year old loves wandering and fishing but we have to do the tasks for him.
It's a nice addition to the Wii collection and rounds out the variety in games.

It's a fun game, but to me it gets repetitive. With you keeping up on the stats like on the other Sims games it makes it to boring and repetitive. Its amazing how the game lest you gave your own style with the furni and the houses. Also seeing the little chibi characters make it hard to stop playing.
