Product Description Keep your hands steady and your mind focused for Trauma Center: New Blood, sequel to Trauma Center: Second Opinion. This time around there's a lot more on the line. Every cut of the scalpel, every pinch of the forceps, each and every second that ticks by is of the absolute greatest importance. If you think it's too much to handle alone, invite a friend to assist with the operation and work together to save patients from flat lining. The adrenaline is pumping, lives are at stake, and only you can save the day. Have you got what it takes? At a remote hospital in Alaska, Dr. Markus Vaughn, a surgeon who has forsaken the politics and power struggles of his former ward, quietly toils. He is content to use the power he has discovered within himself, the Healing Touch, to positively affect the lives of those in need. His partner is Valerie Blaylock, a promising young doctor eager to unlock her own dormant abilities. When the facility unexpectedly closes, they are forced to return to Concordia Medical Institute, where politics are more important than patient's lives, and doctors more concerned with image than their ministration. There they are recruited into the government organization Caduceus, where they will learn of a conspiracy with dire ramifications, and their lives will be changed forever.

is it good? September 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a 9 year old and I am thinking of buying this game. I want to be a doctor when I grow up and I don't faint when I see pictures of sugeries etc. I would like to know if this game is fun, what you think about it and what you have to do in the game. Thank you for your consiteration.
Not the best game, but worth your money. August 18, 2008 First I'll start off with the negatives. I mean it wasn't the best game out there. The fact that the characters are just anime drawings and their mouths don't move when they talk. Also, the game was very challenging and requires a decent amount of control of the Wii remote, so littlekids may have some difficulty. And also, the storyline was a little creepy and diabolical. I'm not going to give too much of it away but the fact that the virus you fight is man made by a cult/the mob and doctors being kidnapped and such is just a little disturbing.
But now for the positives. For those who've played Second Opinion (the prequel) you know that it's completely silent, unlike in this one where they actually talk. Also the multi player is a huge advantage not only to end the constant switch off after every death ordeal, but also to aid you in beating the game (i.e. you can specialize in what your good at such as you take care of tumors while your friend take care of vitals and suturing wounds). Also, the surgeries are now varied. Although the main focus is the man made disease, they also throw in some common things like broken bones and even a few burns and skin grafts.
So all in all it's not the best game, but I liked it and would reccomend this game because it's worth the money.
A lot of fun, but probably not for everyone July 28, 2008 My wife and I are not serious gamers, but we have really enjoyed this game. Certainly there is a lot one could critique such as the graphics not being stellar, the unrealistic medical scenarios, and bizarre story line that occurs between surgeries, but overall it is a fun game. We particularly enjoy being able to work together during the operations as a surgical team.
It is true that it usually takes multiple attempts to figure out and be able to pass any given level, but the challenge of it is part of the fun. There are some levels where I just dont see how it would be possible to pass them without two people.
In any case, its a pretty fun game and certainly is not gory by any means. Furthermore, being knowledgeable in medicine or having real life surgical experience does NOT give you any advantage in the game. I think just about anybody could play this game and get good at it as long as you have reasonably good hand eye coordination.
So addicting July 14, 2008 I absolutely LOVE this game. I rented it and cant wait to finally buy it. It is very addicting, my boyfriend and i never put it down. It can get frustrating if you cant do something in time. But it is the best game i have. Very Very fun. Would recommend it to anyone!
The best Medical Simulation game out there. March 31, 2008 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I am a huge Trauma Center fan. I have played Trauma center: Second opinion and loved it! When I heard that Atlus was developing a sequel, I had to buy it as soon as they released it! This game was not a disappointmentat all. The first time I played it, I couldn't believe how much better it was than Second Opinion! It was astounding! Here's a brief overview of the game.
OVERVIEW:
This game takes place 10 years after the events that occured in Trauma Center: Second Opinion, which took place in the year 2018, when medical terrorists were using a virus called GUILT (Gangliated Utrophin Immuno Latency Toxin)to terrorize people all over the world. And a doctor named Derek Stiles, who was gifted with the Healing Touch, had to stop the Virus and cure its victims. Now, in New Blood,10 years later in 2028, there is an even greater threat at hand. Its name is Stigma. It is a very deadly pathogen that was discovered and released into the public by accident. Now, two very talented Alaskan surgeons (named Markus Vaugn and Valerie Blaylock) with the Healing Touch must stop Stigma and save people's lives before they become victims of Stigma Themselves. The tension is on as they preform life- saving operations, in hopes that they can accomplish their mission.
PROS AND CONS
PROS: This game has really good graphics. A lot better that Trauma Center: Second Opinion. You actually feel like you are operating on someone. The graphics are so lifelike, and there is also the classic Japanese anime- style art involved too.
Awesome gameplay and storyline: This game has a truly gripping storyline that will keep you coming back for more! I could not stop playing it because there was drama and danger around every twist and turn.
Full voice-over Dialogue: In the first installment of Trauma Center for the Wii, Only a few parts of what the doctors and nurses were saying were actually said aloud, the rest you had to read, But now they have actors saying everything that is written on the screen.
Controlls and rumble feature of the Wii remote and nunchuck: The Wii remote has a built in rumble feature, that allows you to really feel the action as you are preforming operations. The nunchuck allows you to select the surgical tools that are necessary for you to successfully complete every operation. The Wii remote serves as your scalpel, Syringe, suturing tool, and ultrasound among other things. You also use thi remote and nunchuck as the defibrillators.
Co-op mode: Now you can play with a family member or friend to help you to accomplish those tricky and difficult operations that you just can't do on your own. You can do operations twice as fast with one other person to help you to finish the operation successfully.
CONS:
A lot of the operations are very hard to complete, even when playing on the Easy setting! But this game is very fun nonetheless.
I would defnitely reccomend this game to anyone who dreams, or has drempt, of becoming a doctor. Before I played this game, I didn't handle the virtual pressure well, and I was really shaky when I held the Wii remote, Now i am not shaky at all! It really makes you hold your hand steady like a real surgeon would have to. This is a really grat game that will shock and suprise you constantly to the point to where you are screaming at the television and virtual characters and in denial at what is happening in the storyline.
I hope that my review has helped you!
