Product Description GAMEBOY ADVANCE VIDEO GAME VERSION-HARD TO FIND GAME. LOTS OF FUN. GAMEBOY ADVANCE VERSION. BOMBERMAN TOURNAMENT. GAMEBOY ADVANCE VIDEO GAME. MADE BY ACTIVISION. GREAT COLLECTOR'S ITEM. A MUST BUY. ALL-TIME CLASSIC. HOURS OF GREAT SUPER FUN. HIGH REPLAY VALUE. GREAT FOR ALL AGES. HERE IS SOME MINOR INFO ON THE GAME.There are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and Bomberman. Every major console and handheld since 1990 has been host to at least one, if not five, of Hudson's wildly addictive Bomberman games. The latest is Bomberman Tournament for the Game Boy Advance, released here in North America by Activision. Although longtime fans will bemoan the absence of costume choices and "Louie" partners in the game's multiplayer battle mode, the immensely satisfying premise of "bomb or be bombed" remains well intact.Straying from a recent trend in Bomberman games, the Game Boy Advance release of Bomberman Tournament contains a fully realized multiplayer battle mode in addition to its single-player quest. With the aid of a couple of link cables, you and up to three friends can duke it out in any of the game's eight multiplayer battle arenas--each of which has its own unique gameplay twist. Whether you're avoiding buried explosives in the land mine stage, hashing it out with full power in the hi-power stadium, or just keeping it simple in the standard arena, the variety of locations offers something for everyone. The game supports both multi- and single-cartridge multiplayer options, although the load times for single-cartridge hosting are somewhat excessive. The joy of Bomberman lies in its simplicity. Stuck in an arena with three opponents, you need to lay time bombs in order to trap and obliterate the competition. The last person remaining is the winner. As you vanquish foes and clear away obstacles, a variety of power-up tiles appear. Randomly selected from a pool of 10 different items, these tiles can do all sorts of mischief.
Amazon.com Review Bomberman has been around forever (OK, since 1990), and has starred on console systems as diverse as the Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64. Consistently great gameplay makes it one of the few series you can always count on. Fortunately, the brand-new Bomberman Tournament for Game Boy Advance is certainly no exception--it's a classic, through and through. The reason is stellar gameplay and simplicity, all combined with a heaping helping of action. It features a simple single-player quest mode, but it's in the multiplayer option--you face off against up to three computer opponents or friends over a network of GBA units--that the full potential of the franchise is realized. The puzzle-style gameplay is simple even for those new to the series. You've got to lay time bombs that trap your foes or obliterate them. Bombs also destroy obstacles and collect power-up tiles that give you new powers. Once all your opponents are destroyed, you win the level. In the past, Bomberman's single-player modes have been for practice, but this outing stretches the gameplay with eight large cities and a handful of dungeons. Bomberman is sent to destroy the enemy, including six giant bosses, and save the world in a somewhat Zelda-like environment. Yes folks, it actually has a plot, and it's not bad for such a simple game. The graphics are simple but well animated, and the music is straight out of the previous games, including the stirring Bomberman theme song. The single-player quest is worthwhile, but taking on a friend in head-to-head combat is still what the game is all about. It's the best of both worlds, and perfect for a handheld. --Andrew S. Bub Pros: - Solid single-player quest
- Great multiplayer mode
Cons: - The graphics are a bit bland
Amazon.com Product Description In Bomberman Tournament, players take the original Bomberman on a rescue mission for Bomberman Max, who has fallen out of communication since being dispatched to the planet Phantarion to answer an SOS call. The popular Bomberman series comes to the Game Boy Advance system with 10 types of weapons and power-ups, eight four-player maps, and more than 200 room-based puzzles.

Just got this game but bomberman ROCKS! May 25, 2004 I won a brand new-shrinkwrapped-never before played (you get the idea) copy of this game off ebay. I played some japanese versions of bomberman games on the gameboy my friend had before he moved. It was like a 12 pack on one gameboy cartridge an i remember there was pocket bomberman, bomberman GB, Warios blast (starring bomberman), an a bomberman game where you could get armor kinda looking like a hovercraft which was possibly bomberman GB 3, possibly bomberman GB 2(included), and the rest were games like super mario land and doctor mario (all in japanese), i rented bomberman 64 (US version) an it was fun an i own and beaten pocket bomberman (US version) for the gameboy. I read reviews an this game looks great. I will update as soon as i receive the game.
WHAT a surprise!! May 11, 2004 I have never been disappointed with a Hudson based game :) I thoroughly research a game before purchasing it. Read reviews on here and on Game Faqs.comThis is one of the few, unadulterated games I have played, apart from Golden Sun, in awhile. The quest is VERY original-Zelda-type and addictive. ACTUALLY enjoyable. This is Bomberman fun with a nice blend of RPG..unfettered. I cannot stand those platform RPG combos (The latest Zelda games)...very few pull that off effectively. Bomberman Tournament is a great game for those days when you don't want to break your fingers and controller. SURPRISINGLY fun game!!If you want epics this is not for you. If you want fun gaming with some challenge...this is it!PS: BTW according to Nintendo The Legend of Zelda is not an RPG but has always been classified as an action adventure. Was I surprised with that one :)
Short and a rip-off of Zelda July 13, 2003 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
First off, this game is way too short. Plus, there's not much replayability involved in it. Also, it seems more like a Zelda game than a Bomberman game. Yeah, there's Bomberman action, but let's see what it has in common with the Zelda games: -Various dungeons with puzzles in it, where you find items to help you continue, and also a boss in each. -At the end of each dungeon, you get a "heart" that increases the amount of damage you can take. -You'll find a map to help you out somewhere in the dungeon -As you go along, you'll get different kinds of weapons -And others. Also, the Charaboms are clearly a rip-off of Pokemon. And finally, as stated previously, the game is too short, and it lacks replayability. However, it IS fun while it lasts, which is while I gave it 2 stars instead of 1.
I love this game! ...wait. There's an RPG included?! May 22, 2003 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The multiplayer feature rocks. Picture this: Up to four people can play with one game pack, you can play in eight different levels, along with revenge and a fishing mini-game. Now, that would be worth the price of the game, right? Well, there's more! There's a Bomberman RPG-type game too! And it's very long! It took me two hours to get out of the first forest! Trust me, you'll have a blast(get it?) going through this game. You can collect Karaboms to battle and help through different obstacles. There's puzzles to solve, missions to complete, bosses to battle. There's even more stuff to do, but you just have to pick it up for yourself! This is a must-have for any Bomberman fan. And even if you're not a fan, just try this game!
A Great Game!!!!!!!!! December 13, 2002 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bomberman Tournament is an awesome game. When I first got the game for my birthday, I didn't know what to expect. But after I started playing it and got the hang of it, it became really, really fun. It is a lot like the original bomberman, only this one is an adventure game. Another thing is that your bombs can be upgraded. Also, there are these creatures called Karabons that can be trained and they can be used in battles. It might be hard for you at first, but keep at it and it (if your like me) will probably get really fun. It is a rather hard game (but not too hard) so it will keep you busy for a while. The only thing is that the time in between bosses is a little short, but otherwise this is a really, really, really great game!!! Anyone who liked the orginal bomberman will loooove this one.
