Nice pad for 3 bucks, could use Turbo Fire though... January 10, 2006 The stock PS pads were great, but I always hated two things about them. 1: The d-pad was 4 diamonds of thumb-killing plastic that made diagonals nearly impossible to hit. 2: The Start & Select were always too close to the analog sticks. With this pad they have a one piece "cross" D-pad which has been around since SNES and Sega and they moved Start and Select where they should have been; near the top of the controller away from the sticks.
The change to the buttons is a little odd, but since all the buttons are rubberized I guess it doesn't matter too much. It would attract me more if it had programmable Turbo Fire like a Madcatz pad. If you're an emulation gamer looking for a stable PC pad, get one of these and buy a PS-to-USB adapter from Lik-Sang and download "Joy2Key," it beats the pants off Saitek.
good for giant hand September 23, 2000 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This controller got an awesome look and deliver what a controller should give you. But you want MORE and MORE. If you want more , dont buy this . Finger burn from the left d-pad . I think it is a controller for people with big hand .I tought it would be a great controller for tony hawk , but the psx original controller is so hard to beat . Buy if you have the money , but if you dont , think of an old good playstation controller!arrows
DON'T BUY July 18, 2000 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
Ok first of all this is the worst Playstation controller ever created. Don't be fooled buy it's looks! Every time you press the X,O, Square, or Triangle button you get a bad finger burn. I tried to play my "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" Playstation game with this controller and because the whole direction pad is one button I couldn't do one skateboarding trick without messing up! My warning to everyone, THIS CONTROLLER IS NOT WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR!
