 Do you have a choice?-STAY AWAY October 19, 2007
well this drum is good quality, not as good as the original one. one of the good points is the start and select buttons are on the outside of the drum on the bottom which is nice because on the original you tend to hit the plastic quite often. Also, the sensors on this one is much more sensitive it tends to read the slightest touch.
overall i am happy with it but i would rather have the official one if i could.
UPDATE:
After some time the drum started not respond to the hits and started to die this product is very low of quality and will give out after some time
I DO NOT RECOMMEND i would change the rating to 2 stars but i cant.

This is a must buy item for those who play Taiko Master.
Like others are saying, playing this game with a friend is much more fun.

Taiko Drum Master is the most fun I've ever had with a console game.
With TWO players you get TEN times the fun! I ordered a second controller the first day I played the game, and its money well spent.
In fact, I actually like the Red Octane drum a hair better than what came with the game. That's why I bought another one, for three total. Its contact points seem to be more reliable than those on the original drum.

The Taiko drum is assembled in Taiko no Tatsujin or Taiko Drum Master arcade machine. This taiko drum is now used in the PS2 for the game: Taiko no Tatsujin. Similar to the drum mania arcade simulator but, the taiko is bigger than the regular drums. Like percussion master, but Percussion master has a 3 drum types. It's still same as the ones in the arcades.

Taiko drum master becomes MUCH more fun with two players, and this drum controller is the only way to get a second drum without laying out another $50 for a 2nd copy of the game (they don't sell the original drum separate).
It's a very sturdy controller and works just about as well as the one that comes with the game. It doesn't have any of the decorations (dots on the side and etc..), but at the price you can't go wrong.
