Product Description In an interesting mix of side-scrolling action and role-playing games, Valkyrie Profile will have you scouring the ranks of the dead in search of suitable warriors for Odin, the Norse god of gods. But before these dearly departed can be entered into Odin's einherjar, or heavenly army, you've got to train them in the right battle skills.

One of the best games ever made April 10, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game is unique, something not found in the FF series. You play as a valkyrie that collects the souls of dying warriors to help in the war in Asgard. Once you get these souls, you have to go through dungeons to level them up before you can send them. The game doesn't really pick up until halfway through, but after that it is awesome. The A ending is great, the first time I ever felt something in a video game.
The most depressing videogame EVER. July 11, 2006 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
Our main character is an abused child who is about to be sold into slavrey by her mother. So she and her boyfriend run away, and they freeze to death in a poppy field.
That's before the opening credits, folks.
Valkyrie Profile has the most unique plot you will ever see in a video game. Characters must die (sadly and tragically) before they can be selected by the Valkyrie for battle in Valhalla.
These are deaths so sad you'll want to lie on the floor. Melancholy, lachrmose, morose, just plain ose.
But it's an unmissable opportunity.
Much like Final Fantasy Tactics, this had a small print run, and demand has long since outstripped supply. I bought if for 40 when it came out, sold it for $150 and it'll cost me $300 to play it again, as I bought a PSP for the exress purpose of playing this game again. It is that much worth it.
Worth every penny... June 29, 2006 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought VP right away when it came out and i'm happy i did. If you can get it, get it regardless of how expensive it is, it's worth it. Who wants to play it on the tiny PSP screen? It just doesn't do it any justice...
If you wish to own it wait January 3, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
It will be rereleased on the psp and will have a sequel on a console system. Though they have not been announced in the states it may be better to wait and see instead of shelling out $100 for a used copy of the PS edition. It is by all means one of the best PS1 games and should be atleast tried by all rpg fans
PERFECT.... April 11, 2005 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Is she not perfection... this game was amazing. GREAT STORY, good game play, interesting combo attack system. Maybe the most enjoyable game I have ever played.Several endings based on how and when you do events. Very expensive now but if your up to spending for these overpriced playstation games this is the one to get.
