Product Description
Studies in the 1960's demonstrated different functions of the left and right side of the brains. The researchers indicated that the left side was more rational and verbal. The right side was more abstract and visual. The left-brain controls the right side of the body and the right brain controls the left side of the body. The left-brain hemisphere deals with sequential analysis - reasoning using language, mathematics, abstraction and reasoning. Memory is primarily stored in a language format. The right hemisphere deals with auditory, visual, and spatial concepts (art, for example) dancing and gymnastics. There is an overlap, though. Brain Assist for DS aims to stimulate your right brain.
The game includes a number of modes to help you train and check up on your brain. Brain Assist offers ten mini-games that focus on strengthening the right hemisphere of the brain by challenging the player's memory, concentration, reflexes, deduction, and analytical abilities. Each game quickly ramps up in difficulty and demands that players think fast to truly maximize their memorization and response times.
Focusing on strengthening the right hemisphere of the brain by challenging the player's memory, concentration, reflexes, deduction and analytical abilities, Brain Assist features four nurses to choose from to act as guides and help players through the game. Each game increases in difficulty and demands that players think fast to truly maximize their memory's potential and response times. Players will then be put to the test again in the "Lightning Round" where the pace and difficulty of gameplay becomes even more challenging. Brain Assist takes full advantage of the Nintendo DS Touch Screen technology and allows for an addictive interactive gameplay experience in either two-player co-op mode or fast-paced competitions for up to four players via the Nintendo DS Wireless Connection.

2 out of 5 stars Brain Assist   April 23, 2008

First off I waited for this game for a really long time compared to other purchases,I was so excited because I love Brain Challenge,Mind Quiz,Big Brain and Brain Age 1+2,the game was eventually purchased at Wal-Mart,because I did finally get it in the mail, but I did return thenm when I received them.
Apparantly because I do all the other DS brain Games ,when I got this one I was too good at it and had to go through something called EVA'S Very Hard Challenge, then I was doing to good at that so I was asked to do EVA'S Super Hard Challenge so I'd finally get a wrong answer.
This game was not at all what I expected, maybe I expected too much after anticipating the game so long and such a long wait.
Brain Challenge and Big Brain are the absolute best and until something like these games comes along,I don't think nothing will compare.I am up to 92 % in brain challenge and have all my gold medals on Big Brain except for 4.

3 out of 5 stars maybe brain gamed out...   April 6, 2008

As an adult gamer, I love the brain games, and any time I see one, I try it out. This game offer challenges, I got bored sometimes and the brain coach I had initially seemed angry with my above average results. I changed coaches, and it was okay, but then I got more bored and traded the game in at my local game stop.

This is not as good as Brain Age 1 and 2. It seems at first as if it would be for children, only, but all ages can be challenged by it. It was challenging for me after playing it awhile. The ideas are simple and appear too easy, but again like Best Tests, it is gets better because the speed and amount of knowledge increases as you advance to new levels. This is one of several games I play. I do not like to play it for long periods, but it is a change of pace for me.
