Could have been better... July 19, 2007 It's fun, but having played the PSP Bleash fighting game, and now the Shonen Jump game, I couldn't help but think that this game could had a lot more substance to it.
If you're a diehard fan it's still worth trying.
a great ds fighting game December 27, 2006 this is the best sword fighting game on the ds
Outstanding - Study your Japanese! August 4, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This game is one of the best Anime Video Games I've played in a long time. It's engaging, addictive, and most of all fun. Although really meant for fans of the anime/manga "Bleach", this game can be enjoyed by any gamer.
The tough part in this game for most will be the language barrier - all Menus, Story Mode dialogue, and Character voices are in Japanese. However, if you can read basic Japanese (Hirgana and Katakana - together known as Kana), you'll be able to read most of the data on-screen. Being a student of Japanese, I find translating the Story mode dialogue to be great practice over a lazy summer.
Overall, the game is great. Quality level is high for a 2-D game, considering the capabilities of the DS - the game also includes high quality stills to highlight the story mode. In terms of American Ratings, this game would most likely be rated T for Teen, although it could pass for E for Everyone. The game is violent, but does not leave the bloody mess after each fight which fans of the Anime are used to.
With a sequel already in the works (Japan release date set for December 31st), this game is a great addition if you're looking for great DS games, regardless of language.
Arguably the best fighting game for the Nintendo DS platform! June 27, 2006 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
WOW!!
If you're a fan of Bleach, I highly recommend you buy this game, but be warned - you will need to know Japanese to get through it.
