This is a great travel mouse November 17, 2008 I have had many other wired and wireless travel mice and this is the first one I truly enjoy using. It is comfortable in your hand, very accurate and responsive. It folds to a very compact size and looks cool too.
I agree with others that the clicking of the scroll wheel feels and sounds a little cheap and a smooth scroll would have been better, but that doesn't detract much from my overall satisfaction with this mouse, which I strongly recommend.
hot looks, poor ergonomics November 17, 2008
really sleek design, looks perfect. built of high quality materials. i cannot complain about scroll wheel, although most other people on these reviews do.
one major complaint i have and the reason why i returned it within first week, is how awfully uncomfortable it was to work with. because of it's "arc" form, it needs to be handled with fingertips and i could not bear it longer than half hour, and i am not even a gamer or photoshopper.
Microsoft Arc Mouse: A good little mouse November 14, 2008 I don't normally promote Microsoft products but this is a good buy.
Best Features: - It's a solid little mouse despite being a few ounces in weight. - Sensitive scroll wheel - no drivers to install unless you want extra features of intellimouse software. - Tiny USB transmitter/receiver. - Nice feel, rubberized mouse surface makes it stick to your hand. - Plastic glide points makes it well, glide nicely. - Back button for web and directory browsing. - Folds into a nice small package with a nice leatherette (sic) pouch with a magnetic closure. - Magnetic holder for USB transmitter/receiver - Works nicely with my mac, even better than with Vista/XP because the glide pad and mouse tracking speed are not separately configurable. This means that if you adjust the mouse speed to match the mouse the glide pad speed is WAY too slow and it takes a lot of work to get the cursor across the screen with the glide pad. (This isn't a problem on my MAC!!!)
Bad Points - The back button is out of reach of your thumb so you have to "crawl" your hand forward to reach the back button. - Not sure about battery life. Haven't had it long enough to know. Hope it lasts ok. The power is shut off when you fold it shut so the more you fold it shut, the longer the battery life. - It's not bluetooth. Would be nice to not lose a USB port when I want to use a mouse AND USB drive AND another USB thing.
As you can see there are only a few negative points. It's a pretty solid mouse. If you want the added features go to [.....] and search for intellimouse and you can get the extended software for interesting features.
Try one. They're a bit pricier than I'd prefer but I gifted it to myself because I'll be in Kuwait for a year. : /
Compact and decent to use November 14, 2008 I really wasn't expecting the mouse to be so small, but it definitely is portable! While some of the qualms that other reviews wrote were true, it really depends on how much you're expecting out of the mouse.
For me, I went in expecting the mouse to: 1) Point and click 2) Be portable (folds up) 3) Smooth and precise mouse movement
With that in mind, I was satisfied and Microsoft actually exceeded my expectations. However, a few negatives: The button (for righties) on the left side of the mouse requires you to move your hand closer to the top so your thumb can utilize the back button. The track wheel isn't as responsive as I'd like it to, but that is adjustable via the Mouse Properties setting in the Control Panel. The same also goes for the middle click button - it is customizable so you don't have the "Instant Viewer" for your browser.
Overall, the mouse is a tad bit more expensive than I'd preferred. However, it met and exceeded my expectations (above) and the program that YOU may or may not download helps improve the user experience for the mouse (through user customizations), at least for me. As far as another user stating that their mouse broke within a month... there is a THREE (3) year warranty on this, so there are no worries!
Nice but unreliable hardware November 12, 2008 The scroll wheel has stopped working after 1 month of use. Have read on several other posts that this is an issue. Other than that the mouse is great! Would be a recommend if it were reliable.
