| Features:
| • | Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII includes a multitude of new features that will make it the finest game of its kind. | | • | The series continues to evolve and bring each character vividly to life by giving players complete control of interpersonal affairs. While depicting historically significant relationships, such as the brotherhood between Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, or the bitter animosity between Ma Chao and Cao Cao, the game allows players to create new bonds between characters, with new commands such as Marriage and Sworn Brother. | | • | Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII empowers gamers with the ability to play as any of the games 711 officers, 100 of which are original characters that can be created by the player. For the first time in the series, Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII introduces a multi-character system using all of the games officers. This system allows gamers the option of playing up to eight characters within a single game. | | • | Each charactere is part of an alliance, nearly all forces can engage in a single battle, regardless of where their power bases are situated. This allows the most prestigious officers from each force to meet each other on the same battlefield. Consequently, power and spheres of influence can change at any moment. The outcome of events will never be completely clear until the end, even if one dominant force emerges midway through the game. | | • | The lynchpin of any historical simulation game is the battle scene. In Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII, field and siege fighting have been combined into a single process. Now the player can decide whether to gradually advance their army, bypass hostile forces, or attack an enemy fortress in one swift move. Battle sequences now require moment-to-moment decision-making. Players must carefully consider the terrain, field of view, unit types and war council advisories as the battlefield situat |

This game rocks! I got it from santa because I played A Dw game before.
In this game you basically get to Qonquer and control land and make a Empire.Which may sound dumb but it is cooool. It is also very historical.(For you parents out there.) Get this Game Now!
Top of the world, Ma !! July 5, 2004 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
This version of RTK is the best by far in my opinion. To do away with all the melodrama of other critics...this is one is the most versatile of all the series. The "growing pains" of your created character are directly impacted within the RTK world you play in. Lets be for real, what are the chances of a 90 rated free officer offering his services to a new jack? The concept of getting to know an free officer and building relations was great. The battle scenarios and help/ tutilage through the different characters is another plus. Lastly, the concept of 'observing' first to increase productivity is even greater. This is the collectors edition for the RTKer who wants to experience true and thorough gameplay.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII March 8, 2004 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
This game could be the best strategy game I have ever played. There is a lot of in-depth political strategies that only get more complicated the higher up the food chain your characters get. I'm guessing that if you looked this game up that you know at least a bit about the series, and that this is the best of the series, though I am yet to play Romance 9. I highly suggest picking it up if you get the chance, and if you really, REALLY like political strategy games.

ROTK VIII Review December 10, 2003 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I have been playing the ROTK games by Koei for several years. And every single time Koei does a terrific job, of adding just enough new aspects to the game play to make me come back for each new installment. If you are new to the series or to Koei games in general, this may not be the best place to start. I myself would recommend starting with more popular, more ACTION-based games by Koei. The first place to go for this is the Dynasty Warriors series. After playing this game, which is based on a Three Kingdoms platform as well, and you like or are interested in learning more about the Three Kingdoms, then play the Romance series games. Dynasty Warriors is far more attention getting and far less involved. Romance on the other hand is all strategy. If planning is your forte then check these games out. DW (Dynasty Warriors) are the types of games anyone can pick-up, spend 10 minutes playing and like. Romance forces you to get involved and take time to truly enjoy the game.Ratings scale. *weak **not bad ***average ****good *****excellent GRAPICS** GAMEPLAY**** SOUND**** REPLAY***** Overall if you are a fan of the Three Kingdoms you will enjoy this game. It's deep, rewarding, and fun.
