Blazing Angels is a lot of fun March 10, 2008 My son and I are having a blast playing with each other and against. Easy to learn for the most part and to earn new combat situations. So far, the missions have been relatively easy but I know that the harder ones are coming up. Great game.
just flying a plane February 13, 2008 So I am not a fan of the 6ax controller but here we have the option of the antalog. Other PS3 games dont give that up. The story is ture and worthy of its record. This game is frustrating as it gets towards the end nevertheless it is by far "The Best Game I Have Ever Played" for any system. Worth just turning it on and blowing things out of the sky.
OK, but August 25, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i found the sixaxis rather numb for this game. it is very easy to overcorrect due to lag from controller/game(?. i did improve somewhat with practice but the end result is still not very satisfactory. since i am not one of the dedicated thumbolinas who live to do fine motor movements with their thumbs on consoles, i really had hoped the sixaxis would be implemented well but this is an older game and the sixaxis functionality had to be programmed in recently, i suspect. i am looking forward to Warhawk and B.A.II - which hopefully were written to take full advantage of sixaxis.
Incredibly fun with the right dose of reality.... July 20, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This game is amazing. I am especially impressed by it because it turned out to be exactly what I wanted. I love flying games, especially aerial combat, but when it is too technical and all sim I get frustrated. This game finds that perfect middle ground. You can stall, crash, lose control, and so forth... but you do not need the skills of a professional pilot to play it. Any gamer can get the hang of the controls with some practice and it is a TON for fun to fly around. Your plane is not indestructable but can take some damage so it is not like a few shots puts you on the ground. Missions and enemies come in a variety of difficulty levels so both the novice and expert will feel challenged byt different game modes. There are abour 40 different aircraft that you can fly in the game and various missions utilize unique attacks: machine guns, bombs, torpedos, rockets, and even phtos are all skills you must learn. I found the graphics to be pretty impressive, even without an HDTV. The background music is pretty cool, too, and that adds a lot to the gaming experience. I have had a blast with the game so far. I have mainly flown campaign missions, arcade mode (gun down enemies to earn time and pass checkpoints), and duels with aces. I don't think I have had as much fun playing a flight game since the days of Red Baron. You will not regret this purchase! I did not even mention the use of sixaxis control, which is another great feature that is used well in this game. Again, Blazing Angels is highly, highly recommended for the PS3.
Great Game for the PS3 July 11, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is one of only two PS3 games I've bought so far, and have enjoyed it. The controls take a little getting used to, but once you have them you can get lost in the story without much trouble. There are some levels that are difficult and have taken me a long time to get past, playing the same battle over and over again. It is also frustrating that you have to start each mission over again if you have to quit at any time. But the graphics and sound are great and its fun to play.
