Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Nyko's Charge Station for Wii is a great wayto save money on batteries. This dock features twin rechargeable battery packs for the Wii Remote -- just connect the Wii Remotes and let them sit until you're ready to play. Charges two Wiimotes at once.

3 out of 5 stars Good, but not great   July 6, 2008
My husband and I purchased this charging system from our local BestBuy for about $30. We were looking for some sort of charging station for our recently purchased Wii, and this was all we could find in our medium sized town of approx. 100,000 residents. While at BestBuy, we noticed another set made by Nyco that included the charging dock, another sensor, and two new rubber skins; we thought, we have a sensor and the rubber skins, so why would we pay more for items we already have? Yeah, that was a mistake. When we got home and opened up the package, we realized that you CANNOT charge your Wii remote while having the plastic skin on. Yes, we could just play without the skins, but I prefer to have them on. So, whenever we get done playing Zelda or MySims, we have to peel back or completely take off the plastic skin to put the Wii mote in the charging dock, and put it back on before we play again. This is my major gripe with the system. I kinda wish we had bought the other set with the plastic skins (now I know why they come with their own skins, with a hole in the back for the charging area to connect to the dock), but am content with what we have purchased. My only other gripe with the system is how particular it is about the placement of the Wii-mote; the dock wants it placed in exactly the right position, and heaven forbid you try to take one Wii-mote off while the other one is still trying to charge. It takes a lot of wiggling and cursing, but it always works, eventually. To anyone who is thinking of purchasing this item, if you don't use the plastic skins on your Wii-mote, go for it! If not, you might consider something else or buying the set that comes with Nyko's own plastic skins.

2 out of 5 stars Poor battery life, replacements are $10 each   July 5, 2008
This product is pretty good, except that the rechargeable batteries have a short life-span (mine lasted only 4 months) and replacements are $10 each, so if you use your Wii about as much as I do, it is going to cost you $60 per year in replacement batteries for 2 Wii remotes. I very much doubt this is a better value than using a general-purpose rechargeable battery in the remote.

I bought this at target and when i brought it home i wanted to test it out. I put the controller in and it got stuck, when i pulled it out the metal pins riped right off. Cheap Chinese made piece of junk.

5 out of 5 stars THIS IS WII ESSENTIAL   July 3, 2008

I wasn't sure with the some of the other comments if this would be worth trying, but have given it five stars, because it is so simple to use, built well, and I just gently place the Wii Mote in the slot and it contacts each and every time perfectly and charges perfectly. I am playing about three hours a day, for fitness training, and this charging station is AN ESSENTIAL!!!!

It is sooo nice not to have to keep recharging my doulbe a batteries individually anymore! This charger works great and saves the hassle of having to wait when you want to play!
