 Avid ps3 fan and this is a must have. September 4, 2008
Just bought this at a gamestop and have been very happy with the results. Not having to always have my ps3 on (which draws a lot of power by the way people) and being able to charge my controller is very nice. As I put on the picture this does not plug into your ps3 but runs off its own power completely so yes one more cord in your system of fifty million cords.
Downsides. The lights that show it is charging are actually pretty bright and while it does let you know whats going on I would have liked to see a turn off or dim option available.
side note: For those of you who have problems with something right when you buy it.....take it back and get a new one... X Box people have been doin it for years.

Sleek and appealing way to charge your PS3 controllers without the obtrusive wires coming from the PS3. Easy to plug in controllers and uses an electrical cord so you can put it practically anywhere. There is a red light for when the controller is charging, and a green light for when its done. I would suggest to place the charger away from eye's view of the TV because the charging lights could cause a distraction, it did to me. Its nice though to glance at the charge station and know which controllers are ready to go!
4 Stars because the lights can distract tv viewing.
Highly recommended over other PS3 charging stations!
 Failure to charge August 20, 2008
I bought this at a local electronics store a few months ago. At first, the lights wouldn't turn on to indicate it was charging. I knew it was getting power because I had a bluetooth headset plugged into the side port. After many attempts, I finally got the unit to work (all I kept doing was attaching and removing the controllers). It worked well for about a week then completely stopped working again. I haven't succeeded in getting it to charge again. Ironically, now the green light just flashes repeatedly even though there isn't a controller attached to it. Judging by the other reviews, I may have simply bought a faulty unit but I'm not about to waste another $30 to find out.

It does what it has to do and I dont have to leave the PS3 on and not to mention i leave it on over night. Plugs into an outlet and let it do its thing!!! I dont like how its red and green but the vertical stand is blue. Too many different colors but a must have!!!

easy to use. looks great. it just works. can charge up to 4 controllers (has 2 USB ports). eliminates the need to have the PS3 running to charge controllers. a super sweet deal at 30 bucks. you will not be disappointed.
