Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
In American Chopper 2: Full Throttle, you've been hired to work in the shop of the popular show. Not only will you ride the incredible bikes featured on the show -- you'll be sent on missions to create your very own, original themed chopper that will rival those built by Paul Sr. and Paul Jr.

4 out of 5 stars An improvement over the first game   January 2, 2006

Like the other reviewer mentioned, this game is much better than the first "American Chopper" game that was released late last year. I have the PC version of the first game, and it just wasn't that great. I mainly bought the first game because I am a big fan of the show. Aside for the problems that Activision initially had with the game not working with PC's that had certain video cards, the game itself just wasn't anything to write home about. Activision's second attempt at an "American Chopper" game is much better. This game is similar to the first game in that you basically have to drive around on a chopper from the series, and collect certain parts or score fabrication points to build items for a chopper. In this game, you play as either Paul Senior, Paul Junior, Mikey, or Vinnie. Each character has their own chopper that they are bulding in the game, and each chopper has a certain theme that the characters are working toward. You must play as each character and complete building each chopper to finish the game. There are six missions that each character must complete, plus a final mission to complete the game. This game is different than the first game mainly in that there is much more fabrication and building of the choppers than there was in the first game. You can also paint the choppers, and give them a certain paint scheme. You can unlock certain parts in the game that affect the chopper's attributes, such as handling and speed. I think this is a fun game, and if you are a fan of the show, you will enjoy the game. The game certainly has a "replay" aspect to it, and for $30, it shouldn't break your wallet either. There were a few things about the game I wish would have been changed, but for the most part they are minor, and don't really detract from the enjoyment of the game. One thing I noticed, is that unlike the first game, you don't have a choice of many different camera angles to choose from while playing the missions. You basically just have a shot from behind the rider, as well as a head-on shot that is basically worthless in playing the game. I wish the game designers would have incorporated an overhead camera angle like the first game had, but this game doesn't have one that I have found. Also, in this game, Vinnie is wearing a shirt that reads, "Mike Rules." In the show, his shirt reads, "Mikey Rules," so that kind of looked a little odd, as the guys on the show never call Mikey, "Mike." I also wish the designers would have put Rick in the game, but hopefully he will be in the next one if one is made. Rick is a great designer and fabricator, and I feel he doesn't get the credit he deserves from being on the show. We love you Rick, I hope you are in the next game. Overall, I really like this game, and I intend to play it again, even though I have already beaten it. The game isn't that difficult to beat, and a lot of the fun of the game comes simply from designing the bikes and giving them differnt paint styles, etc. I think it would be difficult for any two people who play the game to design bikes that look exactly the same, so that is another neat feature of the game. Bottom line, if you are a fan of the show, go pick this game up!
