Nightfall May 12, 2008 We went ahead and got both Nightfall and Factions at the same time from Amazon... using the ground delivery. Let's just say that it got here in like... two days. So at least you can say they have timely delivery. Also, watch out for extra account keys in the boxes. Sometimes they pack two. That's how I got my extra Factions account. xP
Better Than Guild Wars Prophecies April 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you're an experienced MMORPG player, you can skip Guild Wars Prophecies and start with Guild Wars Nightfall first. You can always get Prophecies later and then connect the two campaigns together. The reason is Nightfall is more fun. Your character can level up to 20 (the cap) faster, the loot is more interesting and has higher values so you can buff your character(s) better. The drawback is the enemies are tougher than Prophecies. What Nightfall allows you to get that Prophecies won't is Heroes. Unlike the Henchmen in Prophecies, having Heroes in your party you can upgrade their gear, upgrade their armor, etc. just like you could do with your own character. Heroes also can level up to 20 like you can usually at or near the same level your are. On the contrary, you can't upgrade any armor or skills for Henchmen and their levels are usually far lower than 20 and can get killed off very quickly. If you have both Prophecies and Nightfall and linked them, your Heroes can travel between campaigns with you retaining all their gear and skills and levels. And what's more, online gaming is completely free unlike World of Warcraft.
Wonderfuly LONG and so much to do! January 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The new classes actually ended up being the most popular by far, aside from factions assassins who are great as well. Nightfall offers so much land to explore, ask anyone and they will tell you, its very very long! In comparison to factions or the extremely short Eye of the north (GW:EN).
Dervish are by far the best new class, their skills are deadly, and not to mention very cool. Paragons the spear carriers are great, however dervish outmatch them, unless you make a good second class for your paragon.
The Heroes are the best by far, you can control them, tell them where to go, make skill sets like your own, give them weapons (even ones customized for your character only work as well) It is possible when you get far in the game to give them cooler armor. With each level they gain their armor increases, and you can add runes and insignias etc. WONDERFUL PART ******** if you get them cooler armor (all hero armor is same protection) the runes or whatever was on the armor, goes onto any new armor, which can be switched at any time at a hero armorer. You cannot add your armor to them.
They are way smarter than henchmen, by far, and there are so many heroes to attain. As far as a storyline, its great, the titles are fun as well. You even are given the option to skip tutorial level and get right into it, you can go right into your guild hall the second you make the new person, no waiting no places to go first ( this requires actually belonging to a guild first ).
Hope I helped, I would have loved to known this stuff!
