TOO COOOOOL July 2, 2008 MY SON CAN'T QUITE PLAYING IT....AND NOW I CAN'T QUITE PLAYING IT VERY-VERY GOOOOOD GAME.
Not living up to its potential June 19, 2008 This game has a great idea with the time shift premise, but besides that the game was average at best. you can only drive one vehicle. Driving that was horrible and hard to control. It just basically felt like this game was pushed out to make money and no one took the time to really think the game through. Story sucked and so did the ending. The worst part no vs. mode
Great Fun For A Game I Never Heard Of June 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you like HL2 and Fear type games, you'll probably have fun with Timeshift. It isn't all that different than other games. It is a lot of fun to play though. There are lot's of good battles and some decent puzzles that make you think about how to use the time shifting. Four years ago this would have been a slam dunk hit. It came out a little late. Much more fun than what the reviews made it out to be.
Good but a bit too easy May 4, 2008 I believe this game was overlooked when it first came out. Overall, this is a good game that is fun to play. The time controls add a unique challenge to this game, forcing you to look at certain situations in terms of "time" in order to complete them successfully. The controls are well-designed, and there is nothing difficult in terms of controlling this game. The sound and graphics are decent. The graphics look good for a next-gen game, although they have a unique feel to them -- I'd call the graphics "action figure", since they're not entirely realistic. The sounds are very realistic but the soundtrack is totally lacking. In terms of challenge, the game has very good AI, and the enemies will attempt to surround you and outflank you. However, the time-controls make this game somewhat easy to beat, even on the hardest setting. You will find yourself using the same time-control over and over again to beat enemies. There's a good array of weapons, and some of the more rare weapons are needed to beat certain enemies, however, once you get a hold of certain weapons, you'll use the same weapon over and over again -- again, the game is not that challenging once you acquire certain weapons.
It's a good game that can probably be beat somewhere between 10-20 hours on the hardest setting. Playing about 1-2 hours per day, you will definitely beat this game in 2 weeks. I don't think there is a lot of replay value, but it is a lot of fun the first time through.
