Get your hands on these new Dance Dance Revolution Deluxe High Density Pads. Each of them includes a 1 inch HIGH DENSITY foam insert that can get you higher scores. How? There are 2 reasons: The high density foam is harder than the regular foams (it will feel like as if you were stepping on the metal pad), so the dance pads will be more sensitive when you play. The more sensitive the dance pad is, the better scores you will get. This DDR Deluxe Version 4.5 Pad work for both Playstation 1 and 2. Most regular soft dance pads have small circuits in them (They do not cover the portion closer to the center of the dance pad), which will result in lower scores. With this Dance Dance Revolution Version 4.5 Pad, the portion closer to the center of the dance pad is covered so that you will get higher scores.
