Editorial Review Like their real-life counterpart, wrestling video games have vaulted off the top ropes of the ring and right into our living rooms. You can't channel surf for too long without running into a wrestling show, just as you won't leave a video game retailer's site without seeing a few wrestling titles. WCW vs. the World takes on the wrestling genre, but with an interesting twist. The game is less about official licenses, and more about the large numbers of wrestlers, moves, and options. Only nine actual WCW (World Championship Wrestling) wrestlers are in the game, with the emphasis drawing from six wrestling federations from around the world. The gameplay is rewarding, but requires effort. Individual matches last rather long, so you won't see many 30-second bouts. It's not the best wrestling game available, but the many options (including the cool "create a belt" feature) and sheer number of wrestlers make up for its shortcomings. --Sajed Ahmed Pros: - Dozens of moves, many different wrestlers
- Above average graphics and better animation than most wrestling games
- Variety of options will occupy you for some time
Cons: - Bland soundtrack
- Lacks the quirky fun factor of hidden weapons, special matches, etc.
- A lot of wrestlers, but who are these guys?

Wow November 29, 2003 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
After reading these reviews, i had to scroll up to make sure we we're talkin about the same game. This has to be the worse wrestling game ever made. 3/4 of the fighters are just some random people, which from their names and faces, i thought was hilarious. But when you fight, you can pretty much only punch and kick and do one special move occasionally. However, the opponent doesn't seem to have this problem, whereas they kick your ass 20 different ways. I'm sure I'm not getting the strategy of this game, but i don't need strategy to put this game in and tell it's the worst game my playstation has ever tasted.
Better than any other WCW Playstation title... November 12, 2001 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is the best game that WCW ever produced for the Playstation... but that's not saying much. WCW NITRO and WCW THUNDER were horrible. This game won't win any awards... but, at the very least, it's better than those wastes of space. There are two things that I really liked about this game. First of all, there's the gameplay. It's so much better than the other WCW games! It's a lot less complex than the button mashing madness of NITRO and THUNDER. Secondly, I liked the title competition mode. You can create titles and defend them against the computer and other player-controlled characters. It's the best part of the game!

WCW vs. The world Rocks. September 1, 2000 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
WCW vs. The World rocks. Sure you can't go backstage but you can go outside the ring. One thing I really liked about WCW vs. The World is that Reversals are easy to do. I once the CPU reversted and than I reversed his move and than he reversated my move again. I'd buy it right away.
