not good March 13, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
They are hard to place evenly. they get very annoying aftter a while. if removed they leave a glue mark. i recomend on not getting them i bought them and i have permanent glue marks on mine.
Definitely worth the money December 6, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I ordered this, I expected 2 skins that just stuck on to the sides of the controller. In all actuality, I got 4 skins (2 for each controller). They are manufactured by Pelican and are of pretty good quality.
The only drawbacks that I've noticed, which have all been minor, is that the 3M sticky glue was not placed in the right place on the backside. A couple were crooked, some were more towards the top, others towards the bottom. But, it really didn't affect the actual installation.
The other thing that I was disappointed in was that there were no directions. On the back of the gels, there is a R and L. But, it didn't really tell you where the best place was to install them. So, I actually put one in each and with the sticky side exposed, and gripped the controller like I would when I play. This basically put the gels where they needed to be.
This is also fairly minor, but the picture makes it appear as if the skins are black... they are not black. One set it white, and the other set is the grey that is on the controller. Like I said, not a big deal, but not what I had expected.
So, overall, I gave this product 5 stars because it does it's job. I don't think the minor drawbacks impact the usability at all, but they would have been more helpful if I had known in advance so I could be more accurate with my expectations. Also, like I said before, it's worth the $5+ for anyone who wants a little extra grip on their controller.
Great, but... October 25, 2007 I used these for about 6 months probably, but I don't play that much. When I got addicted to The Orange Box the grips started to slide off so I took em off. There was nasty dirty sticky glue where they had been so I wiped goo gone on it and it was good to go. I'm ordering a couple more pairs now, they are worth it.
Great Idea Feels Great HOWEVER September 13, 2007 I purchased two sets of these for my 360 controllers. They feel great and made a nice addition to the controller. I cleaned the controller handles with alcohol thoroughly to give the sticky side a clean surface to hold onto.
What i found was that the gells started to move around and slide back and forth. The sticky side on the controller worked fine it was the sticky side to the gel that gave way and let the gell move and finally just come off leaving the handles sticky. I would not recommend these for this reason...if they can remedy this problem i would buy again..
It's okay. May 18, 2007 These "Skin Gels" worked okay at first. I made sure my controller was completely clean and dry before I put them on. I made sure they were on good in the right places before I actually started to use the controller I had put them on.
They worked fine for about two weeks. After that, between the heat of my hands and the sweat of my hands the gels would no longer stay in place. Overall, they need to be about a dollar a pair and no more. if they would get better glue on them, then they'd be okay.
