4 out of 5 stars Great game for young and old!   May 15, 2007
Yes this game is very easy, but it is a lot of fun. I played this with my son and we finished the game in about 10 hours. The cheat codes make it even easier. Flying the dragon takes some work and we change controllers so I ride and my son flies.

I don't think this is for people who take gaming too seriously.

Man u guys are stupid sure the game has no point and absolutly no story. But it has some great fighting and you can even grab and beat people up. Me and my friends loved it regardless of whether we read the book or not. Also, if you like lord of the rings return of the king this is your game it is a lot like that and i myself like it. Sure it can be a little repteatative but very entertatining i reccommened

4 out of 5 stars Better than I expected   December 28, 2006

Game type: Linear 3rd person
Genre: Action fighting
5 star rating system
Graphics 3 Fun 5 Story 4 Replay Value 2 Overall 3

Let me start off by saying that this game is good, not great. I was actually pleasantly surprised, because I asked for this game for CHRISTMAS after seeing it on the xbox website. To me it seemed like one of my all time favorite orig. Xbox games LOTR 2 towers. Then I read the reviews before getting the game and was horrified. Maybe I was surprised because I wasn't expecting much, but I found the game to be fun and have that familiar satisfying combat system that I loved in LOTR. You learn magic as you progress and it's awesome being able to push, pull, use fire, and fire magic arrows at enemies. There's a good mix of fighting and puzzles here. at times you must figure out where to jump, climb, and or shimmy and use magic to build bridges.

The dragon levels are a sore spot in the game. Lack of camera panning is a cramp, but dealable. True, this doesn't offer a lot of replay value and is shorter than some games, but actually about average for this type of game (not every game is going to have 100+ hours of game time like Oblivion). This may not be your bag if your more into sandbox style (GTA, Saint's Row) games. As I grew up with linear games I find sandbox games aren't my bag. I say it's a solid rental for players who enjoy linear story driven offline play.

What I generally do is pick up games used on ebay or Amazon and resell them when done. I generally break even, sometimes even turn a profit.

Good gaming to you all,
Stang05driver

1 out of 5 stars This game is terrible   December 22, 2006

I rented this game, because it had a lot of potential, boy was I wrong. The camera angle is a fixed position, and personally I hate fixed 3rd person style, it's nice occassionally, but to play the whole game in that, well I think I'll pass. The game, was just a really bad rip-off of The Lord of The Rings- The Return of the King. The fighting style was very similar. I personally like the games that are free roam, which this game is definately not a free roam game. If you still think you might like it, I would highly suggest renting it.
