XCM 1080p VGA Box = Low quality 640X480 output June 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had high hopes for this box, many reviews had said nice things, the problem is, the video out put is poor, it takes 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p and down converts it to 640x480, on top of that it has some interference, and on at least one monitor I tried, I got quick flashes of black like a strobe, I don't see how any one thought the video quality was acceptable, and the video is no better than the cheap $20 to $30 VGA boxes on ebay, and I paid double that for the XCM 1080p VGA Box
I tried an Xbox, DVD player, Dish Network Satellite receiver, all with component out, and set them to 480p and 720p, I tried that on a Dell E177FP LCD, Epson PowerLite 77c projector, and a View Sonic VS11354 LCD
