Great Charger May 25, 2008 Now I can play guitar hero 3.
Now I can only change the battery.
Before I use to buy alot of battery to my guitar but now I got the charger.
Awsome product microsoft made =)
Great and Compact May 17, 2008 I recieved this battery pack in 2 days. Very fast shipping and it comes in a little compact case. Real easy instructions. You can even plug into your computer and let it charge. Overall 5 stars!
Better Than Regular Batteries May 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Works great in my Guitar Hero wireless guitar. Just hook it up to my PC USB port (or the XBOX 360 port) and wait for the light to turn green. Seems to run for at least a couple of weekends playing. Takes about 4 hours to charge from completely run down. Good product.
Mildly convenient, not worth the price whatsoever April 18, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
If I had to buy this, I would be very, very disappointed. It came with the bundle I received for Christmas, so it does get its use, but these things hardly stay charged more than a week.
If you play it constantly and recharge it daily the battery pack does ok. It's rated at a pathetic 680mAh. For reference, standard AA rechargeable NIMH batteries are about 2000-2500. They lose their charge so quick (all batteries do when charged, these just lose it extra quickly). So if you used it a few days ago, even for 30 minutes, DO NOT expect it to be charged enough to even turn on the guitar. It probably won't have any charge left.
It's ok to have a few on hand as long as you charge them before you use it, otherwise you're going to pull it out and wonder why it's dead, resulting in getting out the regular batteries anyway.
This device is not worth the price. Having received it in the bundle I do use it, but if I had the choice to buy it separately I never would have.
Works Well, but Not Really Cost-Effective April 2, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Guitar Hero Recharge Battery Pack Kit offers an alternate solution for powering your wireless GHIII controller.
The kit consists of a proprietary battery pack (i.e., you can't use it in anything else) and a charger. Both items are very compact - barely bigger than a Zippo lighter. The charger connects to your Xbox via any USB port. I was surprised how quickly it fully recharges a battery pack - from totally dead to totally fresh in about two hours - since it doesn't plug directly into the wall. Also, your Xbox does NOT have to be powered on to charge the battery pack. A fully-charged battery gives you about 10 - 12 hours of play.
My only question is how necessary it really is. I get great battery life using regular alkalines despite playing a few hours just about every day. So it may be months until I recoup the cost of this kit vs. the regular batteries I would have been feeding into the guitar. Plus, this rechargeable pack goes a noticeably shorter amount of time between charges. If you're a heavy-duty player, you may want to invest in a second battery so that you always have a fresh one on hand. But again, that just further dilutes the savings of using rechargeables in the first place.
