(PS3) Hori Pad 3 Turbo Wireless ideal for Oblivion September 2, 2008 Having very mild carpal tunnel, I always look for a usable turbo (auto fire) function on controllers to reduce the need for thousands of button presses per gaming session. Not only is this the ONLY PS3 controller (as of 9/2/08) to have this function, it is the only controller with a variable rate turbo function. Some games treat a very high rate of fire the same as the button held continuously, so this is crucial. Further, the turbo can be "inverted" to be always on until you push the button. If you are leveling a character up, and need to, for example, cast a spell repeatedly, continuous auto-fire allows for hands free leveling up while you watch TV.
Downsides: This pad triggers yet ANOTHER Oblivion bug -- full left (270 degrees) on the left joystick doesn't work. Slightly up (271 degrees)or down (269 deg) work fine. (Another wireless controller, from a different manufacturer, behaved the same way. Both controllers work just fine with the PS3 web browser -- full left moves the pointer left.
The two switches for joystick sensitivity and turbo rate are positioned exactly where the start and pause buttons would normally be, with those two buttons moved down against the bases of the joysticks, where they are slightly harder to hit. The switches and buttons should be reversed, should this product ever be re-engineered.
Love It September 2, 2008 I read various reviews about this controller. Some good some bad. Still I purchased it on recommendation from another online player.
I only play Tiger Woods Golf (08 & 09) with it, so my experience is limited to this franchise only.
This was purchased mainly for the Turbo function, however I can get 105% - 118% by using tap.
Virtually don't have to worry about Hook or Slice.
This controller may not work as well in other games, but my experience in Tiger has been great!
Wish I had purchased it sooner.
Turbo Controler August 28, 2008 Turbo feature is really nice, but the controler body is way too big and the joystick are way way way too small after of couple of games my hands were bothering me. Control feels sloppy. I went back to the PS3 orginial controler.

The HORI PAD 3 Turbo is a fine controller. The turbo button works great for the "shooter games"; I use it with COD4 and turn all the semi auto guns to full auto. It's cool that you can set up ANY button with the turbo. I'd say the biggest down side to this controller is that its nipples are vary small but after playing with them for a while you get used to it. It also feels kind of cheap but I'll take it for the price. Overall I am happy with it.
Good but not great April 1, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this controller just for Call of Duty 4. I have mixed feeling about using it. First the controller is pretty well built doesn't feel cheap. The turbo feature works really well for me since I prefer the single shot rifles and I am able to use it as a full automatic weapon. BUT!!! it is hard to aim with this controller. The analog stick is very sensitive. Even with sensitive setting set to the lowest, I am still aiming wildly. I am able to aim if I move the analog stick very lightly, but it's very slow that way. Maybe it's because I only had it for two days and still use to.
UPDATE. I just noticed the sensitivity option in the game menu. After it to low, the controller works much better.
