Product Description Set in a seriously twisted fantasy world, Overlord: Raising Hell is an action adventure that has players being ruthless, determined, and even a little despotic as they pillage lands and conquer kingdoms in order to be proclaimed the all-powerful Overlord. At the heart of the game is an army of slavish little creatures known as Minions, and their presence provides Overlord: Raising Hell with its deliciously dark comedic touches. Totally loyal to their Overlord, Minions will use their unique skills to fetch, fight and even die for him. Opportunists by nature, a Minion will rob an opponent of a mighty axe to arm themselves and steal armor to wear for protection. Players will amass armies of up to 50 Minions as they explore and conquer the world's five domains. Use the Minions tactically and they'll always be on hand, ready to sacrifice themselves just to save the Overlord's illustrious arse. Overlord: Raising Hell takes players deeper into the Overlord's warped world with a series of additional hellish levels, each a supernatural abyss for the game's five kingdoms. With plenty of black humor and dark irony, this game immerses the player in twisted parodies of classic fantasy scenarios and characters. The game's key innovation is the introduction of those impish creatures - the Minions. Accompanied by a horde of these slavishly loyal rascals, the Overlord plays dirty tricks on anything that moves to become even more powerful. The gremlin-like critters will follow your every instruction no matter how despotic or life threatening it is. Defend the Overlord's tower against waves of enemy attacks; with seven additional online multiplayer maps, including the competitive Capture the Maiden map and Protect Your Power. The Challenge Pack also introduces a Legendary Mode, which challenges you by using your most aggressive minion managing skills to complete the single-player game under exceptional circumstances.

This game resembles Fable in several ways. One being the basic look of the game and the other being how short it is. If anything I would say rent this game if it's a weekend and you have time to burn rent it and save yourself the near 60$ that you spent on it. Don't get me wrong it is fun but there is no replayability on it once you beat it your just done and dont want to do it again.
Rented it, loved it, buy it! August 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game breaks from the boring cookie cutter sports and FPS games. It has a fantasy lord of the rings feel. Excellent next generation PS3 graphics. Overall outstanding visuals, fun gameplay, highly recommend for someone looking to get away from the norm.
FUN, FUN, FUN! August 12, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
over all this was a fun game to play just to waste time.graphics are a bit cartoonish, and game play can be a bit slow at times but it killed the time. Oh don't forget the smart mouthed jester some of the things he says are hillarious!
Being Evil isn't so bad... August 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When this was put out for the X-Box 360 and PC there was complaints about controling your minions and no map, bugs in the system. There have been great improvements for the PS3. There is a map, so now you don't run around in circles. Monions are very easy to control, they are still playful and love getting drunk and pissing on the floor. It doesn't take much to upset the towns people. I believe anyone who like adventure games would enjoy this.
a fun and humorous game July 14, 2008 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I really enjoyed this game. Overlord is one of the few titles on PS3 that will allow you to play a strategy-type game (but also retains some optional first-person smiting of your own). You're leading a pack of minions of several types, and have to use them strategically to win your battles.
Even though at a first glance the Overlord you're controlling is an evil creature, the gameplay allows you to proceed through the game doing mostly noble and helpful deeds, while listening to lots of humorous feedback. Throughout the game, it retains an enjoyable light-hearted atmosphere, without the usual "save-the-mankind-from-doom-and-gloom" setting.
Animation and graphics look a bit dated, but this doesn't get in the way of fun. Definitely, a recommended purchase if you're looking for a new type of PS3 entertaining. If you want to try it out, just download a free demo from the PSN store, I think it gives an accurate impression of the whole experience.
