A fun game with endless entertainment June 29, 2007 This game is not perfect but it is really, really fun. The game is not complex, but the strategy is very interesting. Some think using rockets is most effective, others like sniping, and it is fun to discuss the different tactics and what maps are better for certain tactics and so on. Some units get you alot of kills quickly but you can't actually take command posts with them, while other units (such as my favorite the engineer) favor a slow cautious approach that, if used correctly, can make a huge impact on the battle. If you are not going to play online, this game is worthless, but if you are, it will be a fun time.
Pros Outweigh the Cons May 29, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well I've had this game for 1 1/2 years now, and it still works just fine!, game play wise, story mode is awesome. space battles are a bit iffy, but it is still very satisfying demolishing TIE fighters over and over again. it is missing many very good maps from the 1st installment of the series, like Geonosis: Spire and the Rhen Var maps. jedi action is awesome too. Overall, great game! I highly Recommend it!
Great fun, but freezes May 7, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My 9-year-old son loves this game. He also likes the Lego Star Wars games and Harry Potter type games. This is his favorite, but unfortunately it is also the most unstable. We have an upgraded NVIDIA GForce video card, so that is not the issue. From searching on the web, we have found that plenty of others have problems with this game freezing during the middle of play. We have tried download fixes from Microsoft and LucasArts to no avail. We finally reduced the problem to an acceptable level (from my son's point of view) by entering the game's options menu and reducing the video resolution to lower and lower levels. My son doesn't notice any difference in picture quality.
I rate the game so highly, because my son likes to play it so much. He can now play for at least 20 minutes without freezing. This wouldn't be too much of a problem, except that from what I understand, he can't save whenever he wants, but only at certain points in the game.
FYI, we have Windows XP Home Edition and our computer meets or exceeds all the specifications on the game for system requirements.
Greatest Star Wars Game!!!! April 20, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This game is great! It's even better than Battlefront I!! You can play as Jedis and Siths. You can fight in space. Those are things you can't do in Battlefront I. It has the same controls as Battlefront I, so if you know that game you can pick up on this easily. It's an awesome game for kids who like Star Wars.
Space to difficult to control January 27, 2007 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Don't care for this as much as the original. To much emphasis on flight (space) which I find very difficult to control with the mouse and keyboard. I have not yet tried it with Fang. The land based scenarios seem fine. I use a MX 518 gaming mouse and even tweaking the tracking speed does not help.
