I think that the game is good and fun, if you like multiplayer FPS. It has some great elements, like the whole Sci-Fi feel to it. But it does have some big and some small issues. Big issue, it can be a pain to install. It wouldn't work on one of my computer because as far as I can tell it doesn't like my DVD drive. I contacted support and tried everything including a reinstall of windows and nothing worked. However I just got a new laptop and tried it out on there and it worked very good, in the 6 hours I played it it crashed once, which isn't too bad I suppose.
Some small issues, why the heck does a tank get slightly damaged when you bump into a building or oh my gosh a tree! I don't know how many times I was driving a vehicle around and wished I could run a tree over, seriously it is a tank it can run a tree over. Or the small fences that are around... It is a issue I've noticed in some other games though, such as Tribes. But it should be fixed. Other than that, a better tutorial would have been helpful...
The action is pretty good, people aren't too hard to kill but not too easy either which is nice, some games it is way to easy to die but this one is pretty balanced. The classes are nice and so are the unlock points. Pretty good balance and requires teamwork.
I give the game a 4.5 for fun, but only a 3.5 overall because it needs some refinement and because of my issues with getting it running on my machine.

I have been playing this ever since it launch and i never get enough of it. since then I have then try Halo 2 & enemy territory: quakewars. Both of these games is not too good. I eventually sold on ebay. I am used to the bf2142 standard.
Frankly the game speed is real. Soldiers move like real soldiers move, unlike quakewars everything is so damn fast there is little skills involved. half the time i dun even know what the hell is going on.
If u want real time games. This is it. lots of fun, lots of tricks, lots of team work, lots of skills, lots of aiming, lots of tactics. This is what i call the bf2142 standard. Halo 2 is good but graphics pales compare to this.
I am waiting for crysis and unreal tournament 3. I hope it can continue to bring more fun where bf2142 has left off.

Battlefield 2142 is a very fun game that has the same game play as Battlefield 2. Battlefield 2142 has new weapons, new maps, new vehicles and more new features, including the Titan mode which is a lot of fun. Both battlefield 2142 and Battlefield 2 are excellent games with excellent game play. I would recommend both, they are two different games with different goals.

lots of people are complaining about adware. the truth is its not even that noticable, its in the game billboards and signs and i dont see why people would give it one star for the same thing every other game developer puts in their games. i loved it, action-action-action and sci-fi action. its BF2 in the future how does that not rock.
Really...Vehicles Overpowered? September 19, 2007

People are complaining about the vehicles being overpowered. They think infantry should bring out a gun and blow up a 80 ton tank. Lets see... that makes PERFECT sense. Look at the real world, infantry don't go blowing up tanks effortlessly. Vehicles exist for a reason as PROTECTION. This a great game, just like Battlefield 2. I would suggest to anyone to buy this game, if they liked Battlefield 2.
