MarioKart a Little Disappointing July 3, 2008 We received Mario Kart for Wii about 5 weeks ago. The game is in perfect condition and arrived very fast. I am a big Mario Kart fan and was really excited about getting this game. However, the Wii version is a little lacking. I was disipointed when you couldn't use multi-players to play the grand-prix. That is what we loved to do on the other Mario Karts. Besides that, the game is very fun and has some new tracks and charaters to keep you interested. If you like playing the grand-prix by yourself this would be an awesome game for you. There are the other multi-player modes so don't be discouraged if you have a group. Still a lot of fun.
Awesome!! July 3, 2008 I was wondering what all the hype was about, and when I got the game, I got the answer. It is really fun with all the different tracks and being able to play with multiple players is really great. The wheel adds to the fun! Definatley buy more than one wheel!
Mario Kart at it's best... July 2, 2008 Let's be honest here.. Double Dash was fun, but it was horribly balanced with special moves and snaking made it impossible to beat anyone who was good at it. Mario Kart has never been about driving "Skill" it's been about driving "strategy."
I'm the guy who rides in 7th place purposely waiting for the lightning bolt ;-)
Anyways the game has a single player mode that can be quite difficult in the 100 and 150 class races and there are a lot of cool player unlocks such as the ability to play as your Mii. The wheel takes a while to get used to, and i inevitably gave up on it and either use the gamecube controller or the nunchuck but it's still a lot of fun and something different. If the single player mode isn't enough to quench your thirst, there's a very well conceived online mode that let's you put your ranking up to the test in both race and battle modes. My only complaint is the really shotty online friends menus, which make it nearly impossible to set up a game with friends and really enjoy it.
Overall I think this game is a lot more fun and balanced than the previous installations, and a lot of the retro maps are included (including SNES!) That being said, if you own a Wii and do not own this game then you might as well be using to help hold up your couch.
The best mario kart game ever. July 2, 2008 When I got this game I thout it will be like mario kart ds, but now I played it for a month I realized this game has so many characters, bikes, karts and more. So many courses to have fun at and race but dont forget that there's some things that will make you spin out or stop. Also time trails, battle mode, grand prix and more. That will blow your mind with fun and action.
In conclusion I think this is a must buy.
Mariokart continues to kick butt! July 2, 2008 More levels, classic levels, more characters and more powerups. Warning: If you LOVE the N64 version of this game, like my sister, you might be disappointed. She just can't handle the upgrades. But I love it. I like the bikes and different karts. But the new Rainbow Road is hard for me. I just keep falling off.
Overall, a real winner!
