a game that keeps you on your toes March 9, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Review from the real owner, my husband:
A game with good graphics, and background design that keeps you alert all the time. Can be played on-line too, but not so many on-line players are out there yet, so it takes a bit of time to get people to play with. While the on-line Turok player population grows, I'll stick to my Call Of Duty 4 on-line game, which, by the way, I would give a 5 star rating with no second thoughts (plenty of fun and people to play with).
Turok March 8, 2008 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
All I can say is this game sux.It is nothing like Turok of past days.I have played all the Turok games before this one.Was so looking forward to this version.Even finally bought PS3 to play it.Wow what a let down.Sold it after three days, that bad. With the add of a side kick for Turok is what really killed it.Turok always fights alone. And that is what I always loved about he games before, among other things. Ok,I must say one positive thing of the game, graphics are very good. But that is all.
The Son of Stone has returned. March 6, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I played the demo for this game when it came out, and I liked it so I decided to buy the full game. In my opinion, Propaganda Games has done an excellent job re-imagining Turok for next-gen consoles, even if it is a little rough around the edges. Namely, the save system is a bit frustrating, and the shooting mechanics are a bit jumpy do to excessive screen shaking (if you turn down the sensetivity a notch or two though, the aiming is much better). Also, a minor complaint I had is that it should have been gorier. They don't shy away from the splatter when you kill Dinosaurs, but unfortunately, killing enemy soldiers is practically G-rated (I'm guessing it's because Disney isn't quite ready to deal with Jack Thompson yet). I suggest you ignore the haters and try the game for yourself before you pass judgment. It's a decent shooter and a solid return for the Turok franchise. It's not as good as Call of Duty, but guess what? The original Turok wasn't as good as Goldeneye, but that didn't stop people from enjoying it. You'll either like this game or you won't, so I suggest you try it for yourself.
Hopefully, Propaganda makes a good sequel to this game. They're a new developer, but I see a lot of potential in them. They just need to fix the shooting mechanics and save feature, and add the extra coat of visual polish that this game could have used (which is not to say it doesn't have good graphics, because for the most part it does) and they'll have a really good game on their hands.
You love Dinosaurs? You'll LOVE this game!!! February 16, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Despite its flaws (difficulty, unfair moments, no cheats :-), technically not as good as UNCHARTED ) I love this game! There is an amazing array of well designed and animated Dinosaurs which almost look as real as in any JP movie. Graphically they're superb! The levels aren't always as beautiful. But they're well staged and never look the same. They Dino kills could be less bloody fo my taste.
