You'll Love It! February 13, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I agree the save feature could be better. Other than that, the game is just straight on great. The different weapons, the neutral dinos, the graphics, and the fun are all first rate. If you haven't bought this game already, where you been? Buy it, then get online and play with me.
Glad I rented it first February 12, 2008 3 out of 14 found this review helpful
Okay so let me start out by saying this, I am SOOOO glad I only rented this game before I bought it. Its terrible. The Turok for the N64 was a fun game and don't get me wrong there are some fun points to this game (the bow and arrow was and is still awesome) but other than that this game is repetitive and boring. In the old Turok you could hold a multitude of weapons and while yes I know in real life you could only carry so many weapons with you isn't 1/2 the fun of a FPS carrying a ton of weapons and being able to choose between which ones you want. The programmers in this game force you to only carry 2 weapons at a time (in addition to your bow and knife and a sparse grenade that has been scattered here and there). So lets move on to my biggest pet peeve. Whenever you are hurt you basically go blind. Think Call of duty 4 right before death but on the 2nd shot (and not just blood surrounding your eyes the whole screen goes blurry). Which of course since you can't see anything you die very easily after only being hit once or twice (which gets REALLY old when you have to play the same level 20 times b/c you can't ever see). The game itself "tries" to have a story line but doesn't do to good a job of it. The dinosaurs themselves are pretty cool. I did like
I give up on it February 11, 2008 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I waited awhile for this game to available to rent figuring it would be great. I was a bit disappointed. The graphics seemed to dark with not enought contrast. It's either green or shadows - making it kinda hard on the eyes. I played it for a few hours and then gave up and probably won't play it again and definitely won't buy it. Biggest complaint? The save points suck!! You work and work to fight your way through, you get almost there and then get killed. Gotta start all the way back and do it all over again. They REALLY should have made a quicksave feature. If it had that I'd probably still be playing. Maybe I'm not the best gamer but I really don't have hours to spend trying to get through one small portion. So I give up and will look for something else a little more user friendly.
Nothing new to do or to see here February 9, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's a boondoggle, a rip-off of the Turok franchise. There's nothing here, story, controls, weapons, play, that continues the Turok tradition. Glitches, no customizing, it's a weak programming effort. Basically, this product is a scam on the customers who liked the former games.
Many better FPS games than this: Resistance, Call of Duty, etc.
