 A Different but More Exciting Approach to FPS!! May 14, 2008

Finally! Awesome graphics and smooth movements of the Unreal Tournament series on the console! The graphics of this game is stunning. And the gameplay is fast, unique, and breath-taking.
It's interesting that we all seem to clinch onto the type of FPS that we're used to. So I can see why some people who started playing FPS on "realism" types such as Counter Strike or Call of Duty would be put off by the gameplay of UT3. Everything in UT3 happens so fast with rockets, laser beams (shock), bullets flying around so fast that everything might feel confusing and spammy to a new player. But in fact, UT3 is a very deep game. The movements of the game allow you to dodge the bullets coming your way while you blast your opponents with hitscan-type guns as well as anticipation-type weapons such as the rocket launcher and shock rifle.
IMHO, this is FPS at its FINEST!! Extremely powerful weapons coupled with unreal and fast movements allow for exciting crossfire between you and your opponents. The movements include dodging, wall dodging, double-jump, just to name a few. But once you have mastered them, you'll see that the gameplay of UT3 all makes sense. The chaos and confusion in the past become clear as now YOU become the one blasting rockets at newbies while you dodge away everything that comes your way. And when you see higher skilled players, BOOM! All the better as you engage in an exciting fight in the midst of the battle.
It is no secret that UT3 might have a steep learning curve compared to other games, but the excitement and possibilities that comes with it is unparalleled.
I am personally not a fan of "realism" type FPS games, fighting with grenades, shooting and hiding behind walls, etc. Of course, I understand that those games require strategic positioning and teamwork as oppose to just "camping" as some frustrated newbies say. But the entire flow is slow and too passive. In something like Search & Destroy where everyone has only one life. The risk is too high to take to be the aggressive side and it appears that most people choose a more passive approach. Waiting in a strategic position and fire anyone that comes. To me, that's not what excites me. The way that UT3 is designed, the more aggressive you are, the better chance of survival you have. And I like being rewarded as the more aggressive player. But make no mistake, UT3 requires great teamwork to operate.
Once you have tried CTF through clan matches, you'll understand. The amount of teamwork it takes to break through an opponents' defense and cover your flag carrier home takes tremendous teamwork. Same for TDM and Warfare.
For those of you who have never tried this type of FPS, give it a go! You will not be disappointed! This is one of the most exciting and unique type of FPS in our modern days! Give yourself some time to learn how to play through playing online with others. There's no need to "train" yourself offline or with other games. The best way to learn something is to play with others who know how to do it. When I was a newbie, I didn't find it embarrassing to be killed so many times online. But I get an adrenaline rush everytime I killed someone else. And before I knew it, I have mastered the game along the way.

Admittedly, I am not an game-a-holic. Nor have i played any other installment in this series (or any game like it). But that doesn't mean I don't know fun when i play it.
This game punches the intagible things hard! Like the characters were developed very nicely. The things these guys would say had me cracking up! The acting was spectacular. They looked the role they played also. Their movements were funny because they seemed so genuine to me. You know how some resemblances are so on that they make you laugh? That's how it was for me. And the verbiage never gets tiresome. Even the curse words added to the game, but they're not overdone.
I just finished the game single player on Casual. I'm goin' back for more on, eventually, all the difficulty levels, plus i really want to master the game (weapons choices, vehicle use, knowing where all the pickups are, etc). FUN, FUN, FUN! Plus to play online, which i've yet to do with any game.
I felt like i was playing a Next-Gen game, and Not just 'cause of the graphics (which were wicked!).

I have played some of the earlier unreal tournament playstation games and if your a fan then this game is a must, for any one else into FPS type games, the game play can get pretty fast and intense, i definitly recommend playing online. next to Call of Duty 4 this would have to be the game i play right now.

Es un buen Juego, pero no se puede jugar multijugador sin conexion a internet, es decir si quieres jugar en tu casa con un amigo no puedes,,, otro detalle es que viene en ingles no al espanol, al momento del LOAAAAADIng es eterno,... Espero q te ayude este review

Ureal 3 is pretty much dull. It falls so short to other shooters,
Plus all the Mic problems that is the main flaw of this game. Worth renting but not buying.
