Not worth to to buy it December 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bough this for my 8 year old son and I to play Starwars light saber duels, just for the sake of adding an interesting peripheral to the game.
But it's not fun at all. It's too heavy to play with it inside the game, and that's even before inserting the 3 AA batteries needed for it to glow.
It has also been designed in a way that the blade blocks the wii mote pointing, so you must remove it to set up the game and then reinsert it to try to play.
We didn't use it for 5 minutes, now both sabers I bought are somewhere and we don't expect to use the again.
Someone give a review! December 6, 2008 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
Everyone is just making comments about Amazon and preordering! I am thinking about buying Star Wars, Clone Wars game for my son and I would like to know if these things work and can he play the game without them.
Great Concept, but needs to have weight balanced for gameplay November 15, 2008 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
My wife and I purchased these and, although they are bright and would be fun as props or for a costume, they are not practical for gameplay. It makes the entire apparatus top-heavy and causes arm pain after only a few minutes of play (my wife is a bowler and has fairly good forearm strength already, so it's not just a matter of needing to work out the muscles). If the Wiimote had been placed in the middle, allowing for the batteries to add weight at the back of the hilt, this would be a much more useable toy.
my six year old won't put these down! :) October 21, 2008 7 out of 13 found this review helpful
I'll be honest - we don't even own a Wii - so I cannot rate the game; but the Glo Swords are awesome! My ex bought a two pack at Sam's (red & blue) thinking they were the coolest prop he could find to accent our son's Halloween costume. We have been out at night with them - and they are wonderfully (blindingly) bright! I'm now considering buying the Wii - based on my son's love of this accessory alone! How much more would he love playing the game ... right? :)
Glo Sword are nice extras for your Star Wars games October 19, 2008 29 out of 33 found this review helpful
Before reviewing....I'll add to All the complaints about Amazon's mishandling of the product...I didn't get my Force Unleased on time because of this, then canceled my Amazon order of the Glow Swords and bought the 2-pk from Sam's for less per Sword @ $35 total, but this is only for the RED and BLUE Swords.
The Glo Swords are beautifully lighted, a striking clear Glow almost as nice as those full-length replicas that were offered, these are only 12" swords as not to bust-up the living room or blind your friends. They are nicely weighted, although this will effect your saber-skills at first. The Glo Swords fit nicely on to your remotes, even those with CHARGERS like mine (although removing them is a chore).
Duel mode on UNLEASHED is lots of fun with twin Glo Swords especially at night! Temptation to actually fight with the swords may be to great for younger users or (let's be honest) goofy teens... so be warned!
One problem with use with FORCE UNLEASED is some menu options aren't as convenient with the Swords attached, so you may wish to start the game before attaching.
