Ok for starters January 3, 2009 Wii Play is great for people who have just purchased the Wii and are ready to start experiencing the system for the first time. It has a few games that are fun for the family to play together but unfortunately after you get used to the Wii remote most of the games become boring. Wii Play is always good for a quick game of something between friends but it doesn't have a great replay value. It mostly feels like an introduction game. For the same price you could buy a game that has a much better replay value and enjoy it a whole lot more.
Only Good If you Need Another Wii Remote January 2, 2009 The Wii Play is somewhat fun, but nothing exceptional. You should only buy it if you need another Wii remote. Why by just the remote when you can get a game with it, and for just a few dollars more? You can have some fun times with this game, but not many. Do not buy this if you just want another Wii game. Only purchase the Wii Play if you need another controller.
Warning: these games are addictive January 2, 2009
I bought this product b/c I needed another Wii remote. Wii play games are very addictive, and my 9 and 5 year old girls absolutely love them. Even my wife who usually avoid my geeky toys would join us for a game or two. That's really the success behind Wii and it's many interactive games - appealing to the non-typical gamer types (girls and woman in her mid 30's). We all like Shooting, Find Mii, and Charge. The games are easy to play even my 5 year old got really good at Find Mii, beating all of us consistently. My personal favorite is Tank, which reminded me of another tank game for the old Atari 2600. I wish Wii Play was more widely publicized b/c it is that good. If I weren't in the market for another remote, I might have missed out on these games.
Wii Remote is good except when playing using the cursor January 1, 2009 The wii remote is awesome... but the game mostly uses the cursor in the remote and that doesn't work. I only had one chance to play the game and afterwards the cursor stopped moving. It is very frustrating. I think overall the remote is good as long as you won't use it in games that uses the cursor.
The games itself are quite forgetable and even for $9 it is not worth it. I would suggest just buying the remote and forget about the game included in the wii play.
worth the money January 1, 2009 If you are going to buy a control for the Wii, which is necessary since the system comes with only one, buy this! For ten dollars over the price of the control, you get nine games. The games help the player get used to using the system, so I recommend them for beginners. The games are similar to old school video games. There are people who do not like them because the games are not high-tech, but for those who do not mind that, they are fun.
