5 out of 5 stars Great service - good game   December 26, 2008
I ordered this WII game for my granddaughter for Christmas after her DS version was lost. She loves it!!! And the service from Amazon is the best!

I cannot stand this game. The interaction with the Wii Remote is frustrating. There is no AMAZING way to break an egg without chucking it at your flat panel television.

Cooking is great and rewarding. You can consume what you've created.

Cooking Mama let's you do all of the cooking with none of the food.

5 out of 5 stars Very Entertaining Game   November 30, 2008
I loved this game!!! The graphics are medium/good, and the playing part of it is very fun. You can pick from a plethora of recipes, and you get can unlock new recipes. The actions you have to perform to make the dish have a variety of difficulty. Some are very easy, like grinding meat, while others take a while to master, such as breaking eggs and peeling vegetables. It is very fun to play 2 player. The cartoon character in it gets kind of annoying, with some of her phrases being repetitive and some are garbled, so you can't understand them(These should not be the reason why you don't buy the game)Overall, I would say this is my favorite wii game that I have played so far.

3 out of 5 stars A little frustrated   November 28, 2008

We borrowed this game for several weeks while our friends were out of town. We couldn't wait to play it, since it seemed such a popular game. However we were quickly frustrated at the game. It was very hard for my 9 and 7 year old to play. The directions are difficult to understand at times. It would have been nice to play one part and then to practice it until you got it right, but it goes right on to the next part of the receipt. Also a major problem is that my 9 year old is left handed and their was no way for her to play left handed. She tried to play right handed which made the game work better, but she was quickly tired of the difficulty. Hopefully the sequel will improve on these areas.

4 out of 5 stars Cute But Not Complex   October 15, 2008

Cooking Mama: Cook Off is a really fun little game. It's not long, it's not complex, and the graphics aren't jaw-dropping by any means. Despite all that, I still play this game whenever I'm sick and end up spending the day on the couch or friends come to visit. It's simple enough that anyone can play it, but varied enough to be interesting. Plus, the sound effects and Mama's voice over is completely hilarious. You get a gold medal when you do good, and even messing up is funny, like when you flip the pancake too hard and it flips off the stove and splatters on the counter.
