Great June 29, 2008 My 13 yr old uses it and loves it. Makes IM much easier and faster. I think.
Love it June 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this thing. Just for putting in the ridiculously-long codes from the point cards you can purchase at retail stores, it's worth it. It also gives a nice heft. For long gaming runs though, it gets too heavy. Good bonus headset included too, which comes in handy when your stock one goes bad, which it will.
Txter then u Gotta have it! June 4, 2008 Ok, this is pretty useless if your not a user of Xbox Live. Ya you can use it in regular games, but on Live is where it comes in most handy. If you just send messages every so often this is not for you. But, for those who do send them out all the time, perfect! Quick! There is a mic yes, but there are more times when you just want to send a message than to talk.. just like with cell txt'n. I got this when it was $20 so I for some crazy reason got 2.
Works as advertised June 3, 2008 Honestly I only got this because Amazon had it on sale. I didn't really need it. But, I really hate having to enter those long codes from the on screen keyboard. And, when I get messages from friends it's no fun to respond using the screen. I thought this would be a good alternative. Well, it works. It's easier to use than the screen, but it's right in between a cell phone keyboard and a full keyboard. I wouldn't play with it attached to the controller if you're not actively using it. It might also add an extra draw on the battery. Still, it works, it's easier to enter long codes for points, etc. And it's a little easier to throw down some email smack!
Does not work on a PC May 19, 2008 2 out of 11 found this review helpful
Many, many people have bought this little gadget thinking that the phrase from the developer's own website, "Chatting with friends and family on Xbox LIVE and Windows-based PCs is easy using the Xbox 360 Messenger Kit," implied that it would work on the PC. It does not. I still have to sit there hunched over a keyboard while playing video games.
If you intend to buy this for your PC use instead opt for the Madcatz add-on to the PS3 controller. It works with a PC.
