5 out of 5 stars My fave console so far.   December 6, 2008

after having a bad experience with a ps3 really wanting to buy another one however the times with our economy are so hard I decided to go another route. after hearing bad tales bout rrod and stuff I still wanted to try this route. I figured if it craps out these are more affordable right now for me then another playstation 3 would be not that I wouldn't get one of those again in the future should a price drop happen. I do love this one for the game selection as well It seems to have a broader spectrum of games not just limited to shooters and mature titles. This along with my wii I seem content for now. I don't have xbox live yet as I just got this I ordered the larger hard drive too cause like with the wii I love downloadable games and can max it out in notime probably .There are alotta features on this one neat feature if the family friendly settings time limits haha even a adult gamer like me can use that helps save on the system too and waistline. I can see why this one seems to be the top of the list for most people despite its problems and such its pocket friendly, and has the bigger game library, with a lcd hdtv the graphics are mindblowing. Too me too the main reason for picking this was affordability, and then game selection being the biggest outta the consoles out so far. I been a pc gamer for so many years I forgot what consoles were like til i picked up the wii and now the xbox boy was I missing the console gaming. I give this max rating cause its the best console I have ever had and I have had lots of them.Just so many cool feature on it. Just wish they would of put the wi-fi inside but thats just a minor issue. I just can't get over all the things this console is capable of and best looking graphics that I have seen so far it seems brighter to me then the playstation 3 graphics did Hopefully the price on the ps3 will drop so I can get a new one but til then I am happy with this the graphics rock and features best part about it. I would recommend this to people who love a large selection of games to choose from .

1 out of 5 stars Poor quality, compatibility issues, poor choice   December 4, 2008

I bought this system back in 2007 I have owned three since then. The OS has so many compatibility issues that it ruins the gaming experience. I ran into the red ring of death because of unknown issues. I read that the older models were made with cheap parts, and the average life for this system is six months to a year and a half.

I ran into some more issues regarding the TV I bought, which is an Olivia (however its spelled). The HDMI cords won't transmit a signal to the TV, if you purchase or have an elite model.

The latest issue is the OS upgrade that recently occurred. The OS update is only compatible with 1080i televisions. You will experience pixel fading, scrambled picture, or a blacked out picture.

I say upgrade to companies that know how to build game systems. The other companies seem to think about every consumer that purchases their products. I am going to sell my XBox 360 or pawn it. Their initial system was built pretty well, but profit and market share has put quality in the back seat. I understand why the PS3 was so expensive because it will last, and you do not have to pay for all of these accessories because they are included.

Games are fun, but format is terrible.

It's amazing to think that a few college friends about 30 years ago could have ever known then the impact they would have had on the world today.
Hats off to Microsoft on this truely amazing peice of technology. xbox 360 deserves 2 thumbs up and more if I had them. Well done Microsoft.

4 out of 5 stars My favorite game system   November 29, 2008

I'd give this a 5 star if it had more kid friendly games, but the lack of things for my 5 year old forced me to buy a Nintendo Wii.
Graphics are great, and games are plentiful. Lots of choices, and when you get into the Xbox live system and can buy other things like some of the retro games like Centipede, Robotron, Frogger, etc, just makes it even more versatile. I do use a Media Center PC (used Xbox with both the XP and Vista version of it) so I can use the Xbox to watch live TV over my network, listen to all my music, watch my video files, etc. Great way to get my satellites into another room without having to run cable.

3 out of 5 stars Great customer service, but cost me more money!   November 23, 2008

I received the xbox360 in 4-5 business days, so the delivery was very quick! Everything came with the product that was mentioned in the description. When I got my xbox360 I played it for a couple hours the first day. The next day I tried to play the game again and a error message came up stating "epuipment system malfunction." Needless to say I had to return the product for a new one. It cost me an extra [...] in shipping to send it back to the seller. I recevied a replacement in a few days and this one seems up to par! Overall the service is great, just a little frustrated that I had to spend extra money on a faulty system in the beginning, but knowing the circumstances of the return policy.
