Great for Soul Calibur and other fighting games. September 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There's really no other choice when it comes to arcade fighting sticks for your 360, this is it. The controls are responsive, the unit itself is quite sturdy, even after my wife played on it constantly mashing the buttons as fast as she can, the buttons hold up well. No complaints on it although wireless would be nice, but not necessary.
Arcade Action September 18, 2008 I think by far and away the most important thing to have with a video game system is a good set of arcade joy-sticks. Unfortunately for 360 owners this means you better like these sticks. The good news is there is not much to hate. I am by no means a fighter specialist or a champion tournament player. However, I enjoy my fighters and so do my friends and family. For us the Joy-Sticks worked perfectly. We were able to enjoy SC4 with no hiccups and beat the snot out of each other virtually. Even our 4 year old and our 10 year old were able to button mash their little hearts away on these and they held up good. The one thing I can say for sure is Microsoft at least licensed a decent product for the game. So if you could use only one joy-stick this one passes the test for sure.
The review September 12, 2008 First off I would like to say something nobody else has seem to notice yet. The xbox 360 version of this arcade stick has no turbo switches. The ps3 version does. :/ Having said that this should be a second controller for any serious xbox 360 gamer. The gate on the stick is square and works great on every game. It's a bit loud but that doesn't bother me. You'll notice everything about this stick is top quality especially since it's made by hori. The buttons are concave and the stick is a cherry. Both notorious favorites in Japan. While I'm not a huge fan of the buttons I prefer the convex since I slide my fingers it's still works ok. Overall great stick that will hold up even longer than your xbox 360 controller. If you want authentic arcade feel this is the only way to go.
could be way better August 27, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
overall the stick is good, but after only 3 weeks my X button began to fail. Now it only works half of the time. Looks like I'll be moding this stick with better buttons sooner than I thought!
Pretty decent stick for the non-elitist August 24, 2008 I find this is a pretty good arcade fighting stick overall. It's not as good as my old Street Fighter Anniversary stick on the PS2/Xbox - it's a lot clickier and a different feel - from what I hear it's the square plate underneath.
Some of the fighting game elitists will say the stick sucks and recommend a 100+ or custom-built stick. I don't think that's the case. I think this is a perfectly serviceable stick. I find the diagonals are a little touchy once in a while to hit, the buttons are serviceable, and it's miles better than an Xbox controller.
4/5. Good stick, not as good as some older sticks, but can't be beat for the price.
