To begin with, this game is not typically the type of game I play. Meaning that I dont like unrealistic games where the enemy is non human.
I preordered this game and picked it up after work yesterday. I have to say that this is my favorite game on the xbox 360. The controls are easy after about 5 minutes.
Graphics are simply the best I have seen. PERIOD.
The gameplay is soo much fun. I mean with all the hype on how good the graphics were going to be, I was honestly scared that it would compromise the gameplay, but it didn't at all.
I highly recommend this game for purchase. If not at least rent it. I cant wait for a sequel to come out and I havent even gotten a quarter through the game.

What can I possibly say about this game that has not already been said? In HD this is absolutely the best looking game ever made to date (Seriously). No comparison. OMG!! The details I got it today at 1000 and have been playing it ever since just now took a break to check my emails and write this quick review!!
Graphics - 5 out of 5 "Epic" I think best describes the graphics!!!
Sound - 5 out of 5 stellar sounds I truly didn't expect this game to have a FEAR element to it but sounds can be eerie at times. Voice acting is great!!!
Controls - 5 out of 5 I kept reading reviews from critics saying that the control scheme had a high learning curve, but it really is not all that difficult to learn the controls at all. They work perfectly and fluidly once you got 'em down.
Gameplay - 5 out of 5 in a word "WOW" who thought using cover would be so much fun. Pull the analog in a certain direction and hold the "A" button down and instantly sprint to the next available cover. "SSWWEEETT" Gameplay is also "EPIC"
Story - 5 out of 5 So far so good I have just started but it is looking great so far!!
Bottom Line: A lot of games get hyped up and almost never live up to the hype. This game deserves the hype it received and then some!! This Ladies and Gentlemen is the reason you purchased a XBOX360!!

I bought the game today and went home for lunch to get some game time, just in the first few objectives I can tell you that this game will be one of the best games for 2006 and going in to 2007. Graphics are the best I've seen as far as detail, shading and depth. Controls are fluid and the story has me captured. While I'm a fan of first person shooters, this third person perspective is perfect. A must buy for any gamer.

deep inside we WERE all scared it wouldn't match Halo 2....
got home, put this game on yesterday and BOOOOOOOOM !!!

I was taken away to a world like I've never seen !
Right away , I'm broken out of prison.
i get the feel of the controller and character ..PERFECT!
I feel just right.heavy cause i'm a HUGE guy.
move with analog, D-pad is to select weapon.
R is shoot - for guns, explosives whatever.
the smaller R is the reload button and -better yet Active reload !!
(stronger bullets if I reload right!)
and the A button does it all ! stick to walls roll, dodge, duck, cover !
AMAZING ! and what's B?... chainsaw? WHOA !
NOw do I take a back street and sneak or fight?
Fight of course!!!
What The ! My whole room is rocked by some kind of earthquake!
these creatures come at me! I aim in with the L trigger...
"brap-brap-brap x 50 !
I swear i just put 50 rounds in this beast and he's still coming at me!

I played this game last night and I think my jaw was open the whole time. It is visually amazing and very stunning. This game seems to be a combination of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Halo. I just hope that the story turns out to be as good as Halo's. The controls were intuitive, and I appreciated the fact that this game isn't just run and gun. It actually requires the player to think about a strategy to take down the whorde. I am glad that the 360 finally has a game that can properly demonstrate its capabilities, I think that its what all of us who put $400 down on the console have been waiting for.
