A lot of fun July 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game is a ton o' fun and made us want to buy the Lego Star Wars games.
A very exciting game! July 1, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
In this game you can play throughout the scenes of the classic Indiana Jones movies, but with the perspective of a LEGO Mini-Figure. If you enjoy playing with LEGO Bricks, watching the Indiana Jones movies, or if you enjoy playing a fun and challenging game, then you would find LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures to be an interesting experience!
Like the LEGO Star Wars games, you can interact with LEGO Bricks, play through the movies, solve puzzles that are both challenging and fun, buy special characters and powers, collect special items, and battle enemies with your friend. However, there are actions that you can't perform in the Star Wars games that you can perform in this game. You can pick up and carry objects, defeat enemies and solve problems with your whip, dig up objects, fix mechanical objects, climb, and shimmy along walls.
Certain characters have special abilities (Indy can use the whip, Willie can scream very loudly, etc). Some characters have phobias (Indy is afraid of snakes, so he would not perform well when he is close to snakes.) Bonus levels can be unlocked by collecting Artifacts (a new form of Mini-kits). There are also many secrets in the very levels of the game.
Overall, this is a very good game and I highly recommend it. ~Bricknave
Don't buy it just yet! July 1, 2008 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
Last Christmas we got our son the Star Wars game and he absolutely loved it! So when this one came out we got it too. Unless you are extremely computer literate, do not buy this game just yet. The game worked great for the first 3 days and after that (as you get higher in the levels) it starts acting up. My husband is a computer wiz, so I have great support at home, but even then it takes hours to figure out what now? The game itself is great, but it's so frustating that for the first time ever I thought about writing a negative review to warn people to wait. Again, this only applies to the Windows PC game.
turn down settings June 30, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Its a great continuation of the Lego game series. Like others I had problems getting the game to run properly. After I turned down the settings it runs fine. This game has way more graphics going on than the Star Wars games remember the Star Wars series is a few years old. Makes sense that the newer game would demand more of your computer. Check to make sure your computer is up to snuff and don't assume if you were able to get Lego Star Wars to work fine that Indiana Jones would be the same. Its a fun game, I can't wait for Lego Batman.
Raid On! June 30, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
What a fun game! We bought this as a game for the whole family- it has adventurous appeal to the adults, and the cooperative gameplay feature has allowed our kids to enjoy some time with dad.
We enjoy the wit and funny twists on the Indiana Jones movies. It's a blast to be able to play all the different characters and discover their unique abilities.
Our major disappointment has been how intensive the game is on the video card and memory. We have laptops running at around 1.5Ghz and 500Mb of RAM. The cutscenes were painfully slow to load and there was no option to skip scenes you've already watched. We also discovered we had to turn OFF all the video options to even get the game to play, then found that many of the levels completely grey-out due to the intense graphics, or the program locks up all together. We had to borrow another PC to successfully play the whole game.
Summary: if your PC only meets the minimum req's, think about upgrading before getting this game. Get the game eventually, though, because the hours of laughs and fun adventures are well worth it!
