Almost perfect November 14, 2007 SPOILER: Gameplay-wise, this is 5 stars. But just because the player no longer controls Solid Snake in the latter 75% of the game and instead controls a... (well I don't want to offend anyone so I won't use a certain term), I substract 1 star from what is otherwise a perfect game.
twists and turns and mystery November 1, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
A worthy Metal Gear title. The story has a lot of twists and turns. You learn a bit more about solid snake and his "buddies". The controls are good and the graphics are nice!
Incredible game September 28, 2007 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is one of the best video games ever created, no question. I played it numerous times to earn all of my dog tags. I only wish they would have made this for the PC.......
Overall = Superb
Another classic from Hideo Kojima July 7, 2007 After I played the first installment of MGS, I decided to buy this game. I was not disappointed. While most veterans of MGS1 dislike this game because you don't play as Snake, I saw it as a worthy sequel. The graphics are superb and this game is even more suspensful. Overall a must get especially at these prices.
One - man - Army?........ even better May 13, 2007 Im a huge fan of the Metal gear Series,the first one i played was the one for game boy and since then i cant stop playing this games.
theres a little drawback that i will mention later but for now, to the point.
the first mission that the game throws you its a kind of tutorial in wich you could explore the controls and diferent actions, i particularly enjoy stealing dog tags from the soldiers because you need to be even more careful when aproaching the target.
Some new additions they added to this game its the ability to roll, its easier to avoid gun shots doing this, also you can hang on any bridge and do push-ups (well, this isnt as usefull not even for hiding), also you can catch the sentries and hide them on gaps on the wall or lockers.
And theres a good old clasic tricks like hiding in a card box or press against a wall and make the sneak missions easier.
The only thing thats the reason why i dont give this game 5 stars its because the %75 of the game you play as a little wussy/traumatized/militar dog/ girly looking Jack, a young soldier who doesnt even know why he its doing what he does and plus he has her girlfriend over his back pressing about their relationship when he is under heavy gun fire...... sound like a maxim story doesnt it?
Well, if you can stand all of the above for 1 hour or so, then you will start to really see whats happening behind the scene, the scheme of the patriots and the bond between some characters.
The best- sneak attack your oponents, steal their dog tags, kill gulls, scare guards and of course kill the bosses.
The worst- a sissy looking character
