Forget the five star reviews September 11, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Forget the great reviews here. The 4 and 5 star reviews are going to be people who played the first fraction of the game, levels 1 - 20, in the single lowbie area which is the only of AoC part that's almost finished.
Levels 50+ are just bad content wise. There's no end game. Advertised features don't exist or don't work properly. Their test server for adding content is horrible, so patches made are always unbalanced and filled with bugs.
As of this date, most AoC servers are ghost towns. You can't find people to group with, raid with, or fight against. PvP servers are even worse. Guild rosters are made up almost entirely of people who've left for other games.
This game needs to have server mergers or, preferably, to be put back into beta and re-released sometime in 2009.
Needs Serious Work September 9, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I wont include any specifics for reasons to purchase or choose to avoid this game since so many others have done so. However I will say that this game is initially a great deal of fun, but quickly tapers off as you climb the levels. After a good amount of patching and player observation is done, I'm sure this game will be a decent hit. For now you either decide to wade through half a year of unenjoyable content or wait. Your choice.
Did not justify the price. September 6, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
In all honesty, if you're searching for a Mmo, this one will only delay your progress because it gets tiresome by level 40 to be honest and once you reach level 80 people leave because of the lack of pvp or things to do.
If your 50/50 about buying it. Then please don't because you will only regret the 75 dollars you spent (60 for game and 15 for month even tho they say first month is free. Most got charged)
Could have been great September 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Man this game had such potential.. the game mechanics were great but with each patch it got worse and worse and now it totally blows. Save your money and get Hello Kitty Island Adventures.
Only good to look at! September 2, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was so excited about this game, but it has dissapointed me for the following reasons:
* The game was released when it wasn't even 70% ready * Gameplay becomes boring after 1 month of playing * Huge patches every week, one of the patches was 15.6 GB!! * Very buggy and patches sometimes create more bugs! * PvP is terrible, level 80 can attack level 5 without a warning! * No customer service because staff are busy completing the game and making patches!
This game will die soon!
